You could put the chorus From Lady Ga Gas song with Big Silver Glittery angel Wings on them. My niece has special needs (multiple - unfortunately includes severe sound issues so cheer will never be her thing) but I know at the camp that she goes to they play this song a lot.

It may not be her thing, but don't assume. I've known multiple special needs athletes that have been deaf and done amazingly well. We had a girl on our very first team at Kentucky Elite that was deaf. We communicated with about a dozen ASL signs that her mother taught us.

It can be done.

Wasn't one of the special needs teams that performed at worlds a team of deaf children?

There was an article some time ago about a deaf or nearly-deaf all-star or pro cheerleader (Maryland-area maybe?) She felt the rhythm and knew the 8-counts rather than hearing the music.

there was also one in american cheerleader awhile ago from premier sharks- i believe she was on great white last season! i had the opportunity to cheer with her when i was seven... she was my backspot- and awesome at it!

Actually it is her autism that makes it something she can't handle the noise is too much as well as the vibrations - she is also deaf (we have her turn off her hearing aids when music flips her out). She is also visually blind and has a multitude of other issues - thankfully she has found therapy horseback riding as her thing and yoga (the quite and pace of it is more to her liking).
I really hold a special place in my heart for gyms that do run special needs programs because having seen first hand how finding that special thing that connects these kids and young adults and how it helps them and their families. I always end up crying because I am so proud of these special cheerleaders even though I don't know them I think of my niece and how much this must mean to them as horseback riding does to her. I always have my girls come up and watch the special needs teams and cheer them on - and I watch how much admiration my girls have on their faces for the CPs on these team.
I am sure these special CPs give even more than get - we feel truly blessed to have my angel of a niece in our lives. She may have not been made like everyone else but she is perfect in her way because God made her the way she is.
