So this is my first year flying with negative arched feet. In years past I haven't had a problem but now it's extremely painful. It makes it difficult to stay in the air, no matter how tight I am my foot can't cooperate. Any suggestions or any other people with the similar problems.

My mom has a negative arch, and has MS. I'm not saying you do, but maybe that could be a problem? Do you loose your balance easily? The only advice i have is maybe having your bases hold your foot differently.

make sure you have sneakers that are supporting you. Look into arch supports (the over the counter ones work just as well as the prescription ones, and are a heck of a lot cheaper).

I have had perscribed supports for almost a year now. Its really only one foot that turns out or is in pain and of course its the right foot...

I cant walk straight but it isn't MS :) sorry to hear that your mom suffers from it. I am perfectly healthy I just have some messed up feet.

You should consider seeing an orthotics specialist and prescribing special insoles to put into your cheer shoes. I have flat feet and my knee was bugging me, so i went to see the doc and apparently having a funny arch could also affect your knees and ankles. Ifound that my random knee pains went away after using them! It's also a good investment for just every day life health I guess.

Would it help if you changed the type of shoe? Sometimes when my shoes have a flat bottom (they aren't completely flat like flip flops, but not a big arch) it makes me wobbly in the air.

Cheer shoes offer almost no arch support. LittleRazzi uses orthotics (not expensive custom ones, but the ones you heat up and mold to your foot- but you have to mold them properly for your issue) and flies.
You might benefit from seeing an orthopedic dr. The body mechanics involved in balancing while flying, rotation of the ankle, etc., while you're flying can put more strain on the muscles, tendons and ligaments in your lower leg and foot, and I'm not surprised you have pain. Make sure you're stretching, warming up and cooling down, icing after practice and wear your orthotics with your regular shoes! No janky old navy flip flops!

My mom just invested in a pair of custom orthotics. The bad news? They're a couple hundred dollars. The good news? You can get insurance on them and her feet feel so much better now.

I pronate (my ankles roll in), which has given me: bunions, lower back pain, occasional knee pain, BURSITIS, put my hips out of alignment...

I eventually got orthotics (even the cheap basic ones), and it's helped a lot. People automatically think sneakers and such have good support, they don't. Maybe basic support and better than those hellishly cute but flat and uncomfortable gladiator sandals. I attempt to consciously stand 'full-foot', aka pull my ankles up instead of letting them roll in. And when I run I think 'full-foot'. It seems to help. My bunions are always worse in summer though as I wear so many open-toed shoes that have zero support. I'll probably spring for some expensive one eventually.

Shouldn't your backspot be squeezing onto your ankles? That should help a little bit with reducing movement through your ankle.
