It is NEVER TOO LATE! Unless you're like 100...Woo Go Grandma Elite!

ETA; Oh! And By the way, good luck and are you doing All Star or School cheer? :)

Okay so when do y'all think it is too late to start cheerleading? Because I have heard most girls start when they are under the age of 10! I wish I would started then but I really havent started. I am waiting until we move which is soon. So I just want to know when you all think it is to late.
It's never too late to start! especially if you have previous gymnastics skills! but if not most gyms have teams for all ages and level of skills!

I guess it's never too late to start cheering as long as you're in good shape and have some tumbling skills. If not there's more room for injury. My daughter didn't start til she was 14 but she was a competitive gymnast before so she went straight to a level 5 team and loves it!!!!!!!

Its not to late my friend started cheer last year and we were on world cup cosmic rays together and now were on odyssey together and its her second year ever she taught her self how to tumble

Not to be Debbie Downer, but if you have no prior experience with dance or tumbling by the time you are 16 then more than likely competitive cheer just isn't for you. I'm not saying someone can push themselves like crazy, just that most don't. It's significantly easier to learn necessary advanced tumbling skills at a younger age.

I know I will get blasted with "but so and so on team x did it" yes, so and so and whatshername may have done it but in general, the girl who tries to make the squad at 17 when she's never cheered or tumbled before will more than likely leave heartbroken and not on the squad. If you want to be a successful cheerleader, as with anything else, you SHOULD start early.
