High School Hair For Highschool

AFAIK there isn't any regulations for this, it's up to each coach to decide for their team.

Theres no rule aggainst it. It's all up to the coach.

Ok I was wondering because a coach here in town said I couldn't and I couldn't find a rule against it.

I know in some states you aren't allowed to have your hair touching your shoulders. Obviously this excludes long ponytails, but no half up half downs and stuff.

I believe it's Illinois where it's illegal for the hair to touch the shoulder (Could be wrong but its a state near there.) As far as I know though its not illegal anywhere else. We compete UCA and I know they frown upon it at the high school level. We wore ours like that one year and our scoresheets had comments that our hair was "messy" and "distracting" because it wasn't in a ponytail. I prefer the half up half down look but if it's going to effect our score, its not something I'm going to fight for!

We wore it that way last year and this year we are told we can't where stunts are being done as it causes potential safety issues. High school is clean and traditional, so the pony is the right call
