All-Star New Way Of Fulling Up (easier But Still A Fullup)

I am having issues with my fliers who have larger thigh muscles. Their legs don't necessarily cross as easy as the others who don't have the muscles. But I have 2 groups who absolutely love this new way!

Try making sure they aren't trying to cross one knee on top of the other. Some of my flyers like it better when they cross at the knee, but for others (mostly older flyers in the same situation as yours) just crossed at the ankle and kept their knees uncrossed.

I know the answer to my question is probably obvious (that my group needs more power/strength), but we can't get it all the way to the top. Any solutions? Are most backs just tossing from under the butt?

My gym has successfully used this to double up with the bases only having to turn a half... Plus one step

Have you used it in competition? Do you think our judges view it any differently than a full-up with the "traditional" grip? It's a bit late for it now, but I plan to teach this way to my squads next season.

It should be viewed the same... But if you want to up your difficulty and go to one leg, your going to be going back to the old grip anyway

I would LOVE to use this for my jv team. But once they get to varsity they'll need to full around, and I'll have to teach them how to spin all over again. I assume there is no way to high to high using this grip?

I tried this with a group yesterday in the last 10 minutes of practice. They were hitting even though they were tired. I'll try it with the rest of the groups next week. PullandPray23 did you ever figure out what your team does differently to do immediate skills? Video would be lovely!

ok the way I do it is main and side both grab right foot...and the left foot just kinda hangs or (in my case) the flyer can put it on the bases forearm...from there you grip like a full up and drive that sucker to the top...it has worked for me so it shouldnt be terrible difficult...back and theres a 2nd method where the backspot grabs the the right leg..like Ill have to take a picture its hard to explain : )

My team tried this new way of fulling up by watching the video on like the 2nd or 3rd page and we do not get it at all.. we watched the video at practice and even did it in slow motion and we just dont get it.. if anyone wants to explain it further? or in detail ?
