,As far as the wealthy part I don’t agree 100% to that. I am not a normal parent and my involvement in photography will allow me to get a ticket for each event I want to shoot. Most parents and family will not. They will be happy with the 3 day. They watch their CP cheer in prelim. Use 1 day. They will go to finals using day 2 of 3 days. They are done. If they have a CP in the international division or ICU they will use the ticket for day 3. Again they are done. They could care less about divisions that does not involve their CP.

Last year the LG All Girl division was the most insane in the Milk House and it had the least number of teams. If you are a fan of that division you will by the ticket to see that division.

It was clear that things needed to change after the past several years, and it is clear change is on the way. Good or Bad

But large AG and coed finals are on day 2 that doesn't have ticketed session. There are three days of actual competition for every other division.

I hereby invite all international spectators to NCA All-Star Nationals on March 2 and 3. I'll extend a free 2 day Admission (valued at $40) to any international spectators viewing this thread that sends me an email at [email protected]. Include your Fierceboard screenname so I can verify you are legit.

We typically have about 4 countries represented at NCA Nationals, so we don't have the same international flare. But NCA Nationals does have the following going for it:
- almost every single american Worlds Medal Contender attends NCA.Last year we had 23 out of 24 of the medal winners from the club divisions.
- 6 performance venues competing simultaneously, all within seconds of eachother
- the arena experience blows EVERY other competition out of the water
- arena will have over 12 hours straight of Level 5 performances. You won't have to get up out of your seat, except to go to the little boys/little girls room and to buy a pretzel.

I'm still in complete support of Worlds, but if the new pricing structure doesn't make it feasible, we'd love to have you in Dallas.

I hope people take you up on this offer, this year I wouldve been going to Worlds as a spectator, however because of the pricing changes I wont be going. If I would be attending a big comp. I'd choose NCA Dallas never been but it seems I'd get a better experience. If my daughter decides to go back to cheer, I will be in DALLAS=)

-FIVE NIGHTS PLEASE CHOOSE ONE:

This says you get admission all three days if you buy the package. I do not think you need to buy more tickets to see the finals?
Anyone think differently?

I think differently. I read it as you will get into WWS 3 times not all 3 days. They are having events in the WWS Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday has been announced that there will be 3 separate sessions. A total of 7 opportunities to access WWS and you get 3 in your package

But large AG and coed finals are on day 2 that doesn't have ticketed session. There are three days of actual competition for every other division.

And it is now spread out over 4 days. I can see them taking you right to the JC after you perform for awards. Family members are going to go look for the CP and in doing so will leave the Milk House

If my cp's team gets a bid of course as her parents we will go. I want to vomit at the 210% increase but with only a few seasons more ahead of us we are in way too deep at this point. I had a thought though.

What if the price increase aiming to deter attendance doesn't actually work? What if the love of the sport wins out? What if everyone comes anyway? (Field Of Dreams moment...If you build it they will come...cars for miles) Will my $40 a day and the $30 per session price guarantee me an actual seat or will they just oversell the event like they do every year? Will I have my premium price ticket in hand and be stopped at the door because of overcrowding? I don't see that addressed anywhere in the packet information and that is concerning me.

I'd like to address two other issues which have not come up yet on here unless I missed them.

Firstly, the vulgarity rules which included movements, motions and music (even if the word was bleeped out). I am far from being a prude but as the mom of a 12 year old cp on a junior team, I was very happy to see this. I have cringed countless times over the years at some of the dances which were deemed acceptable only because it was being performed by a senior team when in reality we should have been looking for the stripper poles on the mat. I feel this is a huge move in the right direction for legitimizing all-star cheer to the public and for allowing our extended family members to watch routines without being embarrassed.

Secondly, I dislike that the USASF has raised the age level of IO5 teams to 15 however at Worlds, if I'm reading this correctly, a 13 year old turning 14 at any point in 2013 can be placed as a substitute on an IO5 team once that team has earned it's bid with all appropriately aged athletes. To me that makes no sense.

Carry on.

I will say this:
I am halfway through the 'Too Small a Venue' thread- and it seems like the only suggestions they took were @BlueCat's (raising ticket prices, making fans not want to go)- except in the next breath he says that it is the WORST thing they can do because it discourages the growth of cheer. Which it does. He then goes on to give ideas that I believe have more merit (the whole outdoor party scoreboard thing that gives people the energy but keeps them out of the venue, gym wristbands and special seating accordingly, etc) without discouraging the event and yet weren't done.

*PS- BlueCat it's not your fault- they just don't know how to read. :D

If they listened to me, the event would have moved away from Disney World in 2007 and never returned.

ASCheerMan. Love your invite to NCA for international board members. I had already adjusted my thinking that NCA is going to be my Worlds this year where I see many of my favorite teams.

I definitely mean it! We'd love to have you!

Since she's from outerspace, does she get the international discount?

AS Cheer man you are awesome and I hope MANY international teams take you up on your offer. Dallas is far and away the BEST and my most favorite competition!!! I look forward to it every year. We have gone 8 years in a row and you never disappoint. We have been to worlds 7 years and it has gotten crazier and more stressful every year and now it has gotten unaffordable and unrealistic. Thanks for keeping all the little people in mind and always maintaining a top notch world class competition AND give out rings :)

Small concessions on presentation could have had an entire community support the new rules instead of feeling chided by them.

I could not agree more. Why does this organization continue to present changes in such a negative and condescending manner? Each time I read one of these announcements I come away feeling like I've had my knuckles smacked by a nun with a ruler.

I understand what you are saying but you also have to take into account there are extra days now that were not included last year. How many people paid last year and could not watch as well.
That's my question. If I pay $80 to watch my athlete compete on Saturday and Sunday will I definitely be able to get in? There is no benefit to raising the prices if they do not control the number of tickets sold.

I don't know if this had been bought up already...
"All teams who advance to The Cheerleading Worlds™ may
use as many songs in the musical portion of their routine as
they like. Each song MUST BE LICENSED ONLY BY
ASCAP and/or BMI."
Has this ever been a rule before? Because I am 99% sure that NO team/music producer licenses every single song in their routine for use. It would be outrageously expensive and severely limit song choice. Who is going to monitor this? I don't feel like this rule is even feasibly enforceable...

If the new pricing structure doesn't make it feasible, we'd love to have you in Dallas.

As an event, NCA is light years ahead of Worlds. The only advantage that Worlds has (and the ONLY reason that many gyms even remotely consider it for their schedule) is the concept that the winner there is the "World Champion". If Worlds were competing on equal footing with other events, overcrowding would not be an issue.

I have to say the 1st time I went to Worlds I was shocked at the size of both the Milk House and the Jostens and the Jostens, omg I couldnt believe we traveled across the country to sit in whats the size of a large high school gymnasium with folding chairs. Milk House is the size of a small college gymnasium. I expected much more of a production from the back drops to the lighting all of it was blah. I expected it because it was Worlds, right

Probably the smallest venue we perform at the entire season. Not knowing a lot about cheer we walked into the Milk House watched a couple of teams and walked out. What I see on TV or on videos and what I've heard NCA really takes your breath away. That's what I expect from Worlds
