i know cheering is a majority female sport, but how come girls gets coooool looking practice attire? there r so many times that i say that a sports bra is cool looking y cant a guy have a compression shirt like taht. ya i know guys can wear tshirts from gyms and stuff, but as can girls, but yet girls get dope looking sportsbras too. Im hoping cool looking apparel gyms like Stingrays, California, Arizona Power can get compression shirts (underarmour type shirts) that guys can wear too...

sorry if this is kinda odd, i just want cool looking compression shirts.

another thing, i love collecting shirts, but id never buy one, idk y.... but id def buy compression shirts if gyms had them, especially since i know girls wont carry them to trade

Not weird at all. My son would LOVE compression shirts. He wears sleeveless under armours most of the time to practice because he just doesn't like the sleeves on the shirts when he's coed stunting etc. (and he likes to show off the guns ill admit...and why shouldn't he...)

We joke about stapling a bow to his head (he's a 2nd Lieutenant in the civil air patrol so he has close cut hair....just posted a picture of him in his new uniform in the new uniform thread) but boys do tend to be overlooked. At least our gym emphasizes a matching boys uniform rather than the basketball shorts and tee shirt look...

...but compression shirts would be awesome! He would LOVE that...and he'd love to trade with you! We are all about some Top Gun in this house!!!

Whenever I have made bows or keychain bows for a team, I've made them for the boys too. Most boys I know love having bows on their backpacks. One mom got mad that I gave her son a bow, he loved it. I told her first of all; it's free, I bought the stuff and made them, and second...you are always complaining that boys and girls get treated differently, I'm treating them equal.

I tell the boys, you can swap the bows I give you for shirts if you want, I don't care. I make nice, high quality blinged out bows and the kids have swapped my bows for shirts and bows from gyms they admire.

I do think you have a great idea with compression wear. I'd be glad to bling it out for you if that's what you are interested in.

ya def, im thinking sublimated is the way to go? but bling out is dope. i just want some cool cali and rays and az power compression apparel

I can understand where you're coming from... I have 7 boys in my program. Its a matter of need and want. most gyms have unisex tees for boys and girls, that goes out to everyone. Girls NEED sports bras. So we mass produce em. Boys don't NEED compression tops. When its hot out the girls rock the sports bra, when the boys get hot they just take their tops off all together. It would cost most gyms too much money in setup to have only a handful printed. Plus none of my boys would wear compression tops to practice. However we do have tank-tops for both boys and girls.

Are you talking about this kind of thing? (see the guy in the middle at the back)

This is practice wear for a team in Australia, Outlaws All Stars.

I agree, guys should get some cool apparel too! We (girls) get all these cool sublimated sports bras and stuff and I think guys should get compression shirts to match, like that tank top in the picture posted above.

I think it should be a requirement that boys wear either a t-shirt or tank top to practice. I think it's tasteless to let boys run around shirtless in a gym. I think the gym should provide a practice wear to the boys. They are very much a part of the team and should be given the same consideration as the girls. I know from my cp's point of view, she doesn't want to be stunting with a shirtless sweaty boy.

Is it just me or does anyone else think it's annoying if you see some guys competing without a uniform and just maybe a pair of pants and a gym t-shirt. I saw a guy on one team at competitions like this all last year, and I would just say to myself "why can't they give him a uniform like everyone else"

Drives me crazy....and as a parent of a male cheerleader I think it's disrespectful because (at least to the observer) the boys in their program aren't even important enough to rate a uniform.

I think part of the problem is that boys (in many programs) cheer for free or a greatly reduced cost (as many of their parents do not support them in this sport). So, in order to make costs as low as possible for the boys, there aren't required practice wear items. The funny thing is we were JUST talking about getting the boys on the team compression shirts as a Christmas gift and then this thread appears!
