Quick question- If the Davenport family bought Shayla's family home and moved them to the apartment with their own PERSONAL money without school involvement is it still illegal?

I would say legal. But what interest would Davenport have in purchasing the home? Interesting point.

Maybe the boys at Rays aged out? Also boys cheering at Rays would have to compete with Orange. Why not got to a gym that has been know to have some of the best boys in GA? Just a thought. Playing devil's advocate here...
Yes they did but that was not my point and that wouldn't affect Orange since they have always been all girl.

You really seem to know a lot about the situation. Want to share with us who you are so we can decide whether to take what you're saying at face value?

Obviously you can just say no thank you ........... I can't be the only one who's curious!
Ha, no thank you and I am not affiliated with any of them, these are just my opinions.

I think this angle is wrong. I think she bought it for the purpose of renting it to her so she can be convenient to her job. Rather or not rent is fair market value or a part of her employment package is their business.
I will agree with you on that point if HS cheerleading does not fall under the same recruiting rules/regulations as other HS sports. I never know how each state views cheer. The fact that the article was titled, "Johns Creek High School accused of illegal recruiting" made me think the cheer athletes are held to the same standards. And if that's true, then I would think the money situation between the two would very much be the school's business. Cori Davenport is a booster for the school. I don't think there are many states that let boosters buy houses for top athletes and then claim it's no one's business or part of a work compensation package.

I think what she does with her private, all star business is fine. And if there are no rules for cheer recruiting, then it's fine. It might not earn her or her program a lot of respect, but she's done nothing to violate any rules.

But if rules are in place, the girls should have stuck with all star and left school cheer alone. Way too much gray area and money questions to risk the entire team or school being penalized. I would be beyond pissed if my child was on that school team and had a win/title taken away or couldn't compete in upcoming seasons because of sanctions based on issues surrounding the Davenports. High school competitive cheer is a big deal in GA. They are serious about it.

Side-eyeing CBS Atlanta News. Airing pictures of minors and releasing their full names? And showing a picture of the front of a house of one of the minors? ...Not cool.

Did Jamie Parrish report them? if so I think someone's just bitter that Shayla left their gym and is trying to find a way to get them in trouble.

first of all- is johns creek a private school or a public school? Because if it's a private school, i know at least in my county our private schools strive in sports because the kids can easily transfer there without living in the area of the school, just because they have a good football/basketball/baseball/cheerleading programs the good players want to go there. Did anyone ever stop to think maybe they weren't "recruited" they just wanted to go to a school that has a good cheerleading program.

If they love cheerleading and they're happy where they are LET IT BE. They're teenage girls for crying out loud.

Public.

My say in the matter is does winning worlds really mean this much. I would love to hear from people from ca, cea, rays, Cali and Brandon to see if it's really worth going through all this to just win competitions.

My assumption would be YES, since some of the teams you've mentioned have been pointed at AND proven guilty in this like this.
