I guess I'm the only one that doesn't think this is a big deal. If a gym can afford to offer talented kids a free ride and its a good fit what's wrong with that? This is still a free country after all.

off subject-ish... but when is trinity's first competition??? and why havent we really heard anything else about the gym besides who is going there...

Because youth sports should be about working with what you have, not buying out a team of athletes to stack your team. This is cheerleading, not the NFL draft.

Because actively recruiting, and basically buying these kids is unethical. I could swear there was something about recruiting put out by USASF, other than the iPromise campaign. Anyone?

Side note: Royce Tisdale is doing AWESOME! He's my little one's main base on junior 5 this season! He is an extraordinary kid with a smile you can't help but love! My daughter says he's the best base she has ever had! Please keep praying that he remains cancer free!
I'm so glad to hear this :) Royce's story is amazing, and he is one determined kid.

If this is indeed true, it is wrong on so many levels. Severe action/sanctions should be considered. What a blatant display of unethical behavior and total disregard for his industry. Wow, just wow.... I really hope this isn't true....

Why is recruiting unethical? An owner running a business has every right to offer the best package to its kids. This is still a free country with opportunities for both parties.

If this was college level athletics, I would say it's okay. However, this sport is predominantly for kids under 18, with no direct transition into college sports. Recruiting kids who are under 18 is unethical because you are bribing a CHILD. It just doesn't/shouldn't sit well.

College does not allow recruiting. Gifts such as those offered in that note are against NCAA rules, and cost colleges lots of money, let alone scholarships, wins, championships ect.

But, yes...these are kids we are talking about. This stuff does not sit well with me.

It's very true!
