I seriously don't understand how they didn't come into my radar literally until the medaled at Worlds 2012... they are stunting BEASTS and clearly have been for a while.

Maybe it's because they haven't shown up to one of the big nationals throughout the year? Maybe because they don't have someone propagating their routines all over the boards? Idk, but I see you South Elite... I see you.
I mean, they've been going to NCA for a while and won worlds back in the day.

I think thats why. Plus, teams up here aren't really into big competitions... Until Now. I think theres 6 level 5 teams up in Washington for the first time!

ETA; They won Int'l All Girl level ? back in 08. I don't think they've placed well the past couple years and also they've had different teams the past years (coed, then allgirl etc). But i think they are probably going to keep their Med Coed team for a long while now!

There's one thing F5 does that bothers me (I only notice it on F5 because I typically watch their videos more, maybe other teams do it), and maybe it's just choreographed this way: they sometimes don't really 'hit' an element. Like when tick tocking- it's like they never really 'hit' the heel stretch, lib or whatever before they're moving on to either a squish or something. So I never really feel like it looks 'completed.' Like last years pyramid.. It clearly doesn't score that way, but I could never understand why F5 tick-tocking visually bothers me. They're beautiful at full ups.

I could make comments about the routine, but by the time the next video came out it would probably be moot point anyway. Fierce dance though..will wait til the routine is a bit more clean.

Although a question- if a person isn't labeled by name, is it still ok to say they don't have good jumps? Or are we only allowed to make comments on the whole?

people would take you a lot more seriously if your username wasn't TEALarmy and if every post you have made in this thread didn't bring up SE and how everyone stole their routine or how they're better than everyone else.

here's a guide to the scoresheets, in case you were wondering. to max out and get the highest score possible, certain elements are needed... elements that have obviously been in other teams' routines before. there's only so many level appropriate dismounts and building skills. move on.

Ok I am posting this as a learning tool for myself and others who get a little confused when people talk about maxing out the stunt score sheet.

I am not trying to question F5's maxing out of the score sheet, I am just trying to understand it better.
I am going to be talking about the Jambrands score sheet since F5 was at a Jamfest event. And would love some clarification from people, so I can learn :) If there is another thread I should be asking this in, direct me that way!

Jambrands Level 5- Stunting Scale Grids. To receive a 9.0-10, or max out in the level 5 stunt section, you must have 5-5+, of these elements:

• 1+ twisting mount or transition landing at extended level.
• Release move at above extended arm level.
• Prep level and above downward inversion.
• Helicopter release move.
• Double twisting cradle from extended single-legged stunt.
• Other level appropriate creative or unique load in, dismount or transition.

So would 5/5+ elements be scored around the 9.0 area for difficulty? and 6/5+ or 7/5+ elements score closer to a 10?

And how many times can 1 element be scored? Can one skill performed twice be 2/5+ elements needed?

Pertaining to F5 stunting:

In there first stunt sequence they do:

The tic toc 360, releasing and catching at shoulder level.
(From my understanding Jamfest only scores that as 1 element right?)
So scoring as 1 element if they scored the tic toc, is releasing and catching from shoulder level, a level 5 element?
Or if scoring just the 360, is releasing and catching from shoulder level, a level 5 element?

Or is that just considered 'Other level appropriate creative or unique load in, dismount or transition'?

If so this is 1 level 5 element

That is 1 of the 5+ elements.

______

Next:
They release from shoulder level and tic toc to an extension.
Is this considered a level 5 'Other level appropriate creative or unique load in, dismount or transition'?

If so that is another 1 of the 5+ elements

Now were at 2/5+

Next:
They do a tic toc releasing and catching at extended level.
I see this on the score sheet. As a level 5 element. "Release move at above extended arm level."
So that is another level 5 element.
3/5+

Next:
They 1+ twist up to 1 leg extension
I see that on the score sheet, as a level 5 element. "1+ twisting mount or transition landing at extended level"
So another 1 of the 5+ elements needed.
4/5+

Next:
They double down from extended 1 leg stunt.
I see that on the score sheet as a level 5 element. "Double twisting cradle from extended single-legged stunt."
So another 1 of the 5+ elements.
5/5+

Next:
They perform the tic toc from shoulder level to extended level, again.
Then they immediately perform the tic toc from shoulder level to extended level again.

So that skill itself has been performed 3 times in the routine. And I understand sometimes teams re-perform skills to increase the over all impression scores, but I am just talking on the difficulty of the Jambrands level 5 stunting score sheet.

Is that scored as 3 separate elements?

If so that is 7/5+ elements

but

without those being counted as another element since it already has been performed, in my judging (I AM NOT A JUDGE) they have 5/5+ elements.

So to me that would mean I am not maxing out the stunt score sheet, That would be scoring more towards the 9.0 range for difficulty...

Like I said this is not a bash on F5, I am actually a huge fan! And I am positive that their coaches and choreographers know what they are doing, and maybe that is not the stunt they will be performing(Wheres the inversion....you know it'll be in there somewhere), when they really need to make it count. Or maybe I do not have a grasp yet on the maxing out of score sheets, and if that is the case hopefully I will have a better understanding after someone who knows gives a better explanation

Probably because stunting is all they can do.

Completely agree with F5's tick tocks. They don't emphasize the heel stretch before going onto the next element. I hoping that they were just off on counts a little bit and that's why it looked that way and that it isn't choreographed that way, because if so it'll bother me every time I see it.

No matter though because F5 came out with a bang. And I think between all of the teams in the large senior division this will be a fantastic year and really entertaining to see who comes out on top.

Well Hello WG! They look awesome! However Eclipse didn't fully impress me, they were still good. F5.. okay wow! They were good, although I didn't fall in love with them, I feel maybe later in the season. But Reign! Wow those kids are out for some rings, falls or not they were great.

Since I am sure videos will find there way here - I want to say I am so proud of Angels yesterday. We had a tumbling collision, during running tumbling :( - never has happened before - the girls involved are fine, and for that we are thankful, that is the most important thing to us. - they were able to get up - go to their spot and finish the routine. So in that corner there will be 2 other passes not able to go/finish - and another not fully thrown. Some other parts of the routine will be cleaned up/things added (standing fulls) , but the first comp is out of the way! hopefully a front view will surface, as that looks a little better :D music was delayed, so last year's music was used.

Fun fact of the day; If thats Kelly, Ive collided with her twice when I cheered with her lol :D
