My thing is this-without a poof, most my kids look bald on stage. I don't need a Texas poof, but I don't want slicked back either. There is a happy medium on the poof spectrum, but most people can't find it.

Agreed. Mine looks bald without a poof....and it helps balance out her big a$$ bow. LMAO

YES. I absolutely hate the whole "cheerlebrity" trend, and unfortunately its getting worse and worse. I understand looking up to someone because they have a lot of talent, but screaming and crying over someones tan and abs.....I just don't get it

one day i saw cady heron wearing army pants and flip flops, so i bought army pants and flip flops

The trend that all star cheerleaders, especially flyers don't hit correct motions (HIGH V's) . Sorry a hair flip and shimmy don't make up for bad motions.

UGH! We were at competition two weeks ago and I was so saddened at the number of teams that have sacrificed true motions in lieu of a shimmy or something of that nature. And these are even the big name gyms. It's sad. And it stinks for us coaches that still require correct motion placement out of our fliers before we worry about who has a straight-legged scale. :banghead:

When the bases are more flexible than their flyer

So true - i totally agree. I started working on a scorpion (i´m a base and i coach) just to give some of my flyers an example that you need to work on your flexibility. Just because you´re a flyer a good body position doesn´t come over night like a miracle

Trend that is annoying to me:
Call me oldschool, but i loved cheermixes a lot more when they were most part music and some voice overs. I love voice overs - but some of this years are more VO than anything else.

Annoying Trend: People who think they know a cheerlebrity personally becasue they are friends with them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter and they talk about them like they are best friends!

I have no beef with cheerlebrities, but to me, cheerleading is the ultimate team sport and while some may be better or stand out more than others, that formation wouldn't look right if one was missing in the back, or if that base wasn't there to hold up that flyer, or if a few missed that group pass...
