WHERE can I find this?!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. However, my response to this would be...if people didn't watch it, they wouldn't air it. Reality TV sells because of drama. If it was all butterflies and puppy dogs, we would turn it off in the first 5 minutes. And that goes for ALL reality tv shows, not just the ones about cheer. It's sad really that the only thing that keeps us entertained here in America is psycho people trying to get their 15 minutes of fame. And what's even more sad is that a producer will take a show that was INTENDED to be a positive spin on a sport and turn it into drama and make the people who truly love their sport look like they're over the top crazy. But I'm as guilty as the next person because I still watch...because God forbid there would be a show on about cheer and I wouldn't be "in the know" about what happened...smh. When Cheer Perfection airs, I'll watch...with my eyes half covered...all because I want to be able to gossip about it the next day. Yep, guilty as charged. :-/
Also because it's cheap to produce. It's another reason why so many scripted shows go off the air in favor of reality tv programming. Cheaper shows- if they are worried it's not going to get enough views, they up the weirdness/challenge factor, or they up the drama factor.

How can you not know who is Gabi or Debbie Butler is? Ask your cheerleaders who Gabi Butler is?

If you actually reread my post, I said I didn't know who Debbie Butler was. Im very aware of who Gabi is bc she is good at the sport I love and I'm a fan of her talent. Now Debbie, Until last night, was just a mom who let her daughter cheer at Top Gun, Trinity, Cali or whatever gym she'll end up at next. I questioned their character when all that went down, but I kept my comments to myself and didn't get into all that drama bc it's none of my business. Last night, she let me into her family's life. She chose to do that. Therefore I feel confident that I have the right to post my thoughts. Thankfully, I now know that she isn't like that in real life. But to many other people, especially those outside the cheer world, perception is reality and last night she perceived to be someone different.

I think a lot of it is that people in Miami have different values than I do... I would never be caught cursing at kids or to a large mixed audience. Y'all might think its totally cool. So we can disagree about that being acceptable or not as well. Respectfully of course.

I thought it was rather comical that this is a big news story today given what we have been discussing.

'Storage Wars' Star Claims Show Is Fake After He's Fired

I know I'm late to the conversation, but I wanted to comment on this. My husband has a storage unit at a local facility (and loves the show). He recently asked the owner if he ever thought about being on the Texas version. The owner replied that he had been asked twice and declined, also commenting that the whole thing was staged. So, while I don't care much for Dave Hester, I think he's probably on the ball about this one.

You sound like me then. I don't watch it for the drama. I just want to be in the loop when everybody is ripping it up on Fierceboard the day after!

Is that really fair? While I'm sure most of us here are up on all of our "cheerlebrities" most of our knowledge of them doesn't go much farther than the mat...or their tweets. I have no reason to know who her mom is, and only know about her dad because he posts here. At that, we are a small microcosm of the bigger cheer world out there. The one where the majority of kids have no idea who any of the cheerlebrities are.

there are so many things i would like to say and direct it towards a snippy poster or two but i shall refrain, the reality of this is mr butler came on here before the show aired and explained everything to us about the show how it was sold as one thing and became another and quite frankly i have tons of respect for him for that. now i would please like to request that unless you know the family personally refrain from specific comments directly attacking peoples characters and parenting quite simply its well 'embarrassing' and shows that clearly you have nothing else to do then attack other people.

i now motion to convert this to a cat thread.

Gotcha. I'm glad for her kids that she isn't the total basket case that she portrayed on the show. Since you seem to know the family so well... Maybe you can warn them that me and a few hundred thousand other people who don't know her and saw the show questioned her parenting abilities. Glad you were here to clear it all up for me. I was given the wrong image after watching 30 minutes of this lady. Now I have seen the light... Keep speaking the truth :)
Give me a camera and let me film every minute of any family for one week locked inside the confines of a house in a predetermined situation that they cannot control. Guarantee I can make anyone look like a lunatic as well. Editing can do amazing things. I can ask you a question on camera like... "how do you feel about Osama Bin Laden". You of course reply... "He's a piece of @#$@". Then, I later edit you talking about your opponent in the "fake competition" and drop in the sound bite from you about Osama. Bingo, you look like a nasty person calling your competition a piece of @$%.

As we have learned, this is how they edit these shows. What aired was completely chopped up and pieces were inserted that were not said in those situations. For instance, when they make it appear that my wife demanded Amanda throw her full on the floor, that was edited from a separate occasion with a completely different intent. Debbie at one point was telling Amanda, "C'mon, you can do it. I believe in you. Get out there and throw that full!" Of course, when they chopped it and only have her saying, "Throw that full" right after she rebounds on a pass (which was from the warm up time), they make it appear as though she's demanding our daughter throw a full on a dead floor. It's disgusting. This was done throughout the broadcast. Unfortunately, the contract you have to sign when you agree to do these shows specifically states they have the right to edit the footage in any way. Our mistake (outside of doing the show at all) was believing the producer who swore up and down this wasn't going to be "that type of show". We were lied to throughout this process. Even a week ago when they sent an email stating the show would be airing, I asked for confirmation after finding out it was on lifetime, the network that produces "dance moms", that the show was done in a positive light and wasn't showing anyone in a negative light. The response I got was a lie. Lesson learned.

John Butler Where does Amanda cheer now?
Hahahahaha... that's the funniest part about this whole thing. She's not cheering this year. She's been doing some power tumbling and isn't sure what she wants to do. She's always enjoyed cheer but recently has had some thoughts about doing dance or something else, so she decided to take the year off. Of course, my wife, the crazy cheer mom from hell, has been flogging her every day and locking her inside a closet until she changes her mind (I'm joking of course, in case the intent of my joke wasn't understood).

Give me a camera...
Maybe you should sue them then if it's as bad as you say. Just because you sign a contract, doesn't mean they have the right to do anything they want.

Part of me wants to empathize with you if this much lying was really going on. But the cynical side of me wants to say reality tv wasn't invented yesterday. It's no secret what they want and how they go about it.
