Since my mum isn't on the boards, I'm going to make a confession for her which is sort of related to your post. At our most recent competition my mum felt inadequate filming on our camera when everyone else had ipads, so the other day she went and bought a Samsung tablet for next time

I get better quality video on my camera than others do on their ipads.

They say confession is good for the soul ;) About 6 years ago - my cheer bff, and I MAY have partaken in tossing a couple of rolls of toilet paper over the balcony in our hotel - down below onto some other parents (from our gym) and they thought it was the cheerleaders - we just joined in on the fun in a seperate corner and ran. I think that is the worst thing I have ever done on an away trip. lol...

My son, standing on the tumble track platform last night, turns and looks at me through the window as we both do the "surprise!" Part of GT Platinums (2011) jumps sequence together.

Not a single parent in the parent section had any idea what we were doing.

Is there a visible difference? Cp has an airbrush appointment Saturday and we have the choice between organic and non. Other than $5 and the chemicals, I wondered what the difference was.
Well, Organic is better for you and more natural looking. My daughter is white as white can be and it looks good.

LOL...No, I totally understand what you are saying. Number 1 it's an acquired taste. Number 2 over the years as our uniforms have gotten more white in them some of us have been forced into this by the degree of our children's paleness. (No red's on top but my girls are casper-like) However, when the time comes and you cave, and you will, I have the perfect spray tan solution that isn't orange and I'll be happy to share the information!!! LOL Until then enjoy the days of not having to do it. ;)
Yes, the white uniforms and my pastey pale kid... joespeach, be happy you've made it to 9 without the spray tan. I finally caved and had my 8-year-old CP spray tanned for WSF Indy this past weekend, but only after I made her promise she would not mention it to her dad, my ex hubby. He'd flip out!

There are products out there that do not turn orange, even on the pale skinned. (Side note: She's spray tanned in my avatar photo and it's not obnoxious at all.)

I'm pretty much that ghost. My pale stomach blinds the judges from our mistakes ;)

I've considered getting a spray tan but I work in finance and I'm afraid of having to go to work if it doesn't turn out well.
That is my fear as well, I don't want to go work looking like a Oompa Loopa

Mr Tealy might have seriously considered selling all CP's extra Cheersport Jackets on ebay to fund a portion of our travel schedule this year. She has them in every size and we would keep her first one and the one she wears now. I'm still not convinced he's moved on from that idea yet........

I would totally do that - I know someone that bought a "cheer" jacket on eBay or something. Ended up being an NCA championship jacket.

I'll actually say, I'd much rather see that then a kid I saw post on YouTube I think that he hated his cheer days and was going to throw all his NCA jackets etc in the garbage. This was a tumbler (not power tumbling) but more street tumbler who had cheered on big name teams. I think he's 20 or so but I digress.

I'd totally do it.

I caved last year and I was that die hard Mom who would NEVER spray tan my child. The cp actually glows on stage and even under the lights at the gym she's like a ghost. Its bad when the other kids on the team tell them to get sprayed. I did hide it from Dad but that only lasted one competition. I needed him take her to the tanning place for time management purposes so I had to fess up. This past weekend we both took her and had a good laugh while we waited in the lobby.

There are things I want to confess, but I'm scared it would get back to the parents or EPs!

I will confess to the following:

-Signing waivers for parents that don't come in
-Telling a kid it looked great when I didn't even see it (at least once a day)
-Hearing my name being yelled over and over and over and purposely ignoring it (in hopes they'll give up sooner)
-Telling the kids it was great when it wasn't (or telling them it was bad when it wasn't THAT bad)
-Not feeling bad about the crazy families I've asked to leave, forced out, or that have quit. One time, I made brownies when a family left because I was having a personal celebration party (and my life has been 1,000x better since).

:D

Try using Nfinity shoe cases to smuggle food in. My mom discovered this my junior year of high school (I'm a freshmen in college now), and it's worked like a charm ever since.
I'll put the food in double ziploc and then put CP's practice Nfinity's in there on top with that shoe bag in between, they will close that shoe thing up fast. Good idea. Except for I want to smuggle in my Energy drink for when the day is going on and on and on.

I know girls that use the Sally Hansen Airbrush legs on their whole body. Washes off with soap after you're done!
Sally Hansen

I actually used that for Halloween one year since I was baring my legs. I might try that. I know there are totally natural looking spray tans, I'm just afraid I'll end up going to the wrong place or the person will think I'm less pale than I really am and I really can't do trial and error with that.
