HYS is what cheer athletics uses, as seen on the shirts for cheetahs this season. it means either "hit your s**t" or "hit your stuff"

I'm not sure if it's accurate or not, but I heard that they were first the Devilray Allstars, but then the two owners split up and one of them wanted to keep something "rays" so Stingrays was born.
Once again, I have no proof of the accuracy, it's just something I've heard through the grapevine.

but it is a good coincidence and helped keep the mascot

Top Gun didn't have enough money to buy uniforms for their first competition. So, they borrowed old uniforms from Miami Dade College which said Jaguars on them.. Thus, Top Gun Jaguars (recently only referred to as Jags) was born.

One can only assume that "Beaches" is a play on words for "B**ches" such as BABS for Panthers. Although it is completely out of character for Stingrays, this has to be correct! There is not one beach in or near Alanta. The closest beach is in Savannah, GA about 4 hours away and that dirty beach is far from pretty....OH wait... "Savannah Is SUCH a dirty BEACH!" See what I did there?! LOL

I never really thought that "beaches" was a play on words for "b**ches." I thought they just put it in there cause it rhymes.

I really should know this, but I can tell you what I understand to be true. Devilrays former head coach and half owner originally coached for Stingrays. Devilrays was established to be like a sister gym to Stingrays and then Dan and another gentlemen bought Devilrays outright from Stingrays and it became an independent gym. Again, that is what I was told and I stand to be corrected if inaccurate.

My oldest was on peach '07-'08. Beaches is what they used for b**chs. There is a thread on this where I explain it detail.
