Saw this through a Varsity FB post. This is posted on Dakota Spirit's Facebook page as of about an hour ago. So sad :(

Dakota Spirit Friends and Families;
It is with great sadness and deep anguish that I bring you tragic news of one of our beautiful DS families. This morning Alivia Coon, daughter of Rhiannon White, died in a house fire. Two other siblings also died in the fire, Michael Hensely and Savannah Coon. Alivia’s Mom, Rhiannon, is hospitalized along with her husband.

Alivia was 6 years old, a beautiful child with big brown eyes. Alivia was in her first year with Dakota Spirit Firecrackers. She loved Dakota Spirit and had found her favorite activity in cheerleading. Rhiannon is a TAG MOM for Firecrackers and shared great enthusiasm for the program.

We are so grateful for having shared this special time with Alivia in her short life. Alivia was spunky and gave her all to cheerleading. Here is what Coach Jamie said about Alivia, “Alivia was definitely a firecracker! She had so much energy and a smile that could light up a room. She worked hard while at practice and loved learning new skills. Alivia loved to tumble, stunt, cheer and jump on the trampolines. She was a strong flyer for our team and would always keep a smile on her face. Alivia would often tell us how thankful she was for her family and friends and that she loved cheer. She will be deeply missed.”

I am calling upon you to lift up this family in prayer and in helping them to rebuild their lives. We can not begin to comprehend the despair that the parents will face and our help is needed. Donations will be taken for the family. They have lost everything. We will provide you with further information on how you can help.

I ask that you give your child a loving hug from all of us at DS and let them know how important they are. Life is fragile and we must count every day as a blessing, every child as a gift.

Thank you for your prayers and support for the family. We are grateful that our little Alivia knew Christ and will be spending Christmas in her true home in heaven. Through tragedy, we come together in a greater understanding of the special gift of life and Christ.

May you have a meaningful and special Christmas! God bless you all!

Gratefully yours;
Robin Fritsch
