possibly it should be stated that the team has to many tucks/layouts to be competitive? IMO you can compete any level you want (as long as its safe) but to be competitive in a level 5 you need level 5 tumbling...this isnt directed at anyone in particular, but i find it really bothers me when people say "too many tucks/layouts in tumbling" for a level 5 team, for a few reasons. 1. you do not know about their program. maybe they have level 5 team and a restricted level 5 team. the restricted team wont have full team fulls because chances are if its a small program they dont have enough level 5 athletes to choose from. does that mean they shouldnt make team? no. 2. they may have some level 4 tumbling athletes, but does that mean that the team should be level 4, even though they have quite a few level 5 tumbling athletes? if they didnt have that team the level 5 athletes wouldnt be able to push themselves and compete in a division that they belong in. i just dont think its fair to say that they have "too many tucks/layouts to be a level 5 team" because its not your place to judge, and some people are just not naturally gifted in tumbling, but may be great level 5 stunters. sorry for the really long rant, i just think its really unfair, and i may be the only one thinking this but thats okay
why shouldnt the people throwing fulls be able to compete in the division they deserve to? this is a huge problem with small gyms, when you dont have enough athletes to choose from. if they have all level 5 stunts, but some layouts why shouldnt they be allowed to compete in level 5? i definitely agree with the safety though. ive seen many level 5 and 6 teams that i honestly thought someone was going to get seriously injured because the team as a whole was not ready for their levelpossibly it should be stated that the team has to many tucks/layouts to be competitive?
