Hey Everyone, so CP will be 10 in the summer and is really starting to excel past her level 2/3 team we have in our area. We live in NY and are willing to travel as I am a SAHM with a DH. Can anyone give me any ideas on some great level 4 or 5 youth teams around NY, NJ, PA etc that you think are great? I would appreciate it :)

Also, I do know the requirements for those level teams so im not just jumping into things, her current coach is recommending we find a program that will actually challenge her.

I think there are some kids commuting from NY to World Cup in Freehold, NJ. They offer a youth 5 and pretty much a team at every other level.

tinytumblersmom commutes to WC with her daughter. I believe they are from NY.

Oh wow thats awesome! I feel so new, its so much different now then when I Cheered!:D

You can also look for a J4 or J5 - Y4 & Y5 are much less common - I think last year there was a total of five Y5 teams in the country, Twinkles being one of them.

Good luck

Nope - Junior is 14 and younger. Senior is 10 to 18 unless L5 then it's 12 to 18. The IO teams are another story. If you go to the USASF website there's a whole age grid spread sheet you can download.

Thanks so much I really appreciate all of the information it has been very helpful! :D CP well be very pleased to learn I started researching!

I would definitely recommend getting her on a youth team like Twinkles, even though she is 10 it's better for her to be surrounded by girls her age than on a junior team with 14 & 15 year old girls. The World Cup staff has a great way of keeping their athletes on teams that meet both their age & skill level. You'll love the program too, the Pascales are some of my favorite people :)
