Maybe that was it - someone else declined an AL bid on the stage.

They did announce Fame instead of Medium 5... The event producer came to ECE's meeting room after awards to tell us that he had called out the wrong ECE team for the AL bid... ECE Medium did not get a passed down bid...

I know! I spent the whole weekend with my gyms teams or planting myself downstairs to watch. But I heard USA had a great weekend! I was very impressed with Elite!

Yes I am thank you so much! It was our 2nd competition & we practice once a week so we were really happy with the turn out! We stepped it up from last year & the fact that half our guys have never cheered before made the win even more exciting
Congrats to your team as well! I made sure to come watch & you guys were great!!

Thank you! so busy too! we had 13 teams so there was hardly any down time. we were very excited for all our teams! lots of national champs, 1 grand champ, specialty awards & some bids to the summit!

Okay thoughts of the weekend:
I love this event BUT my only complaint was the warmup room. Do you know how hard it is to get a bunch of 10 year olds to focus in warmups next to WCSS? In the future I'd really like to see some kind of barrier in between the upstairs/downstairs teams warming up. The room is really just one big chaotic mess.
But otherwise, I LOVED having level 5's in the middle of the day. Putting worlds teams in the start was a great idea because it gives time to properly calculate scores, bids, etc. but if they did this at the end of the day teams like twinkles would be going at 8pm. Props to you AC, smart idea!
It was nice to see teams complying with the coverup rule as well. I honestly didn't even notice anything different until I heard a coach remind an athlete. Now that I think about it there were really only a couple small programs who didn't follow the rule so my official verdict on it: not that big of a deal. I'm a fan of the rule.
In terms of teams, I was planted downstairs yesterday for most of level 5 except the first chunk of teams (I think I got there around ECE Fame?) so thoughts on those:
I cannot get over the girl on USA Wildcats who does the unassisted cupie. Serious props to her! Also, they looked really strong for this time of the season.. I see great things for them this year! coach12
Fab 5 seriously served. Even my mom (who although I have been training her over the years
) said that they were amazing. I am totally rooting for them this year. Those uniforms on stage are the definition of perfection too.
Odyssey was great! This is one of the strongest and most consistent years they have had in a while. Their bid was very well deserved!
I cannot say enough good things about Full House Open Coed 6. This is how you coach a team with creativity when difficulty may not exactly be there. I'm hoping a video pops up soon! Ashley
Jersey Restricted.. those uniforms are all kinds of perfect on the floor. Videos and pictures will never do them justice until you see them in person. Great routine as always too! NJ Coach krystynakrez
Lites and J5 were an amazing matchup! I always love seeing these two teams go head to head because it really is anyones game. I think a lot of people would be surprised how close those teams really are. Lites choreography is always seamless and J5 is obviously a showstopper this year. What a great way to end level 5!
Wait just kidding one more complaint.. the cell service at the RICC has got to step it up. Absolutely dreadful.
