Make a HUGE poof, or adjust to the size you want. The take tiny pieces from the back( one at a time) and tease. Teasing it makes it big.Then use bobby pins to hold. And if this poof is for competition make sure you use extra hairspray...( it falls out, I know from experience) hope this helps!!

Use a "teasing" brush or comb and apply hairspray as you tease sections to give it some thickness. My daughter has really thin - hard to tease - so the brush was a life saver. Try Sallys.

try using teasing powder, i know alot of people that use it, as do i & it works so good! add hairspray on your poof aswel. Teasing will make your poof bigger.
Maybe also try having a larger section of hair for your poof

I'm lucky I have thick hair but I separate the section of hair (the crown) then tease each section from back to front using a teasing brush (brush with bristles not comb with teeth) & hairspray each section before & after teasing. Then I smooth it back with the brush & more hairspray & tie it with a little elastic you can find at any drug store in packs of like 100. I put my pony tail up & then start securing my poof by separating the tail I guess you could call it lol the hair that's after the elastic in the poof & push the poof forward & pin each side then use another hair tie to add that hair from the poof to my ponytail & add my bow. My hair doesn't go anywhere this way



I'm second from the left. I like my poofs big but this way works for any size poof just take more or less hair! Sorry this is kinda long lol.

Or put small amounts of cornstarch were you are teasing, It's like really cheap teasing powder/hairspray

Tease it way higher than you would ever actually intend to wear it, then mold, smooth and flatten to the perfect shape and size : )

I hate to do a poof for my cp, because her hair is so long and heavy, and it´s actually hard work to keep it where it belongs.
But i love how cute she looks with a perfect poof, so i will have to practise and practise and watch the Spirit of Texas Hair Tutorial some more.

Try the Big Sexy Hair "Powder Play" powder!!!! Sprinkle it on your hair before you tease it and it works wonders!!! it works so well I don't even have to use hairspray!

If you put one of those tiny rubber bands in the back of it after you tease it you can make it so much bigger/higher. It also stays all day... This is the difference in how I did it before and how it looks doing it how I just said
