Hi everyone! For level two, what is worth more points?
A half up to stretch or switch up to stretch? Obviously this would only be to prep but does anyone know?
Thank you so much!

I would think they would score right around the same.

a half up would score higher in my eyes. you are not releasing in a switch up and while it is visual, it is not an actual switch up. a half up is a "recommended skill" on a varsity score sheet. when i choreo stunts for my level twos i like to include the following- half up to extension AND 1 leg prep. inversion, the higher the better (sponge prep level or extended based off the teams ability). and a low to low, no release tic toc. there are TONS of ways to get creative with these skills and all score high on a varsity scoresheet (we are a varsity plan gym).

If you swap one in for another, you most likely wouldnt see a change in your D score at most competitioms.

What about a straight up extension to cradle or a (1/2) twist up to half, push up to extension, cradle?

Do whichever looks cleanest. I've seen lots of level two halfups look really snaky and loose but I've also seen lots of switchups all over the place. And if you are going to switch up, make sure it is very visual.. half the time it's hard to tell it's happening, especially with frontspots!

I personally would try to work both of them into the routine but if you can't - go with execution.

Personally, I want to say that 1/2 ups are an unwritten "required" skill of level 2 as are extensions. Even if you have harder or just as difficult skills, judges (at least in the NW area) tend to make comments about adding those skills to the routine to max out the difficulty.

Kill two birds with one stone by having them half up to extension and then bump down and do the switch up. One way to really do a visual switch-up is to make it a two-man stunt (one backspot and one main base - no secondary). Then there is a very clear picture of the switch-up and they are pretty difficult for that level.

I would assume the half up then push up right away. As long as it is clean.

Better Executed anything is better.. honestly, the diff is 10th's of pts and if it's in but poorly executed, well, you will get knocked so much harder then if you don't have it. HOWEVER if they are executed well, do both, try and max out.
