Speaking of kids in hoochie wear - our second gym made the kids travel to UCA in what the owners deemed "business casual wear". Which meant on the plane they were wearing dresses/skirts and heels/flats. The coach's reasoning behind it was that they were not going to have fun but to take care of business. While I appreciate the philosophy, as a parent having my cps ready for a 7AM flight wearing pencil skirts and sandals in March leaving from the Northeast was ridiculous not to mention uncomfortable for them during the flight.
Except the senior team loved it and didnt wear the flip flops- these girls sported the 6 inch heels and strutted their stuff well.. wink wink- loved how the parents wore pajamas...

Exactly! You are not going clubbing. You are going to to you JOB which is working with children. There's no way you could spot a kid in that hoochie dress. I've always preferred a uniform looking polo with the gym name on it and jeans or dress pants.

OMG YES!! That was my exact thought in the warmup room at both Cheersport and NCA....you are not going to the club to shake your Ace! It's actually getting quite ridiculous! Our kids have a coverup rule and I really think some of these coaches need to follow the same rules!!

Personally, I think coaches that wear dresses or skirts and heels to competitions look ridiculous! This is a sport, you don't see gymnastics or other Olympic coaches dressed like that at competitions or meets. Jeans and program t-shirts or warm-ups look so much more professional.

What coaches wear to competitons definitely has an effect on how people view your gym-more specifically if you're an owner. If you look like you just walked out of a club at every single competition, you're doing it wrong... Kids look up to you. You're an example and if you're dressed like a hooker... Well, you're not being a very good example.

Ditto. Lets keep it classy, I don't need to see your cleavage hanging out.

My coaches wear matching tshirts on day 1 and nicer clothes (but not super nice) on day 2. I've seen to many coaches dress like hookers and I'm glad my coaches keep it classy!

Basketball, volleyball, and track coaches here often dress nicely here. It's not unusual to see them in ties or skirts, especially basketball.

For coaches- my gym always goes with casual day 1. With our program coaches shirt, jeans, and athletic shoes/flats/toms.
Day 2 we do business wear/semi formal. So basically, look nice which reppin the gym colours.

My coach would always dress nice with our colors. She would usually wear nice gray pants and white tank and a burgundy sweater and a scarf, that sort of thing. Or she would wear nice jeans, a program shirt, our team yoga jacket and usually a scarf.

9/10 times I wear dark skinny jeans, a black blazer and whatever colour tank top I rustle up under it. Black flats. Ain't nobody got time to be teetering around on 4" heels in a warm up room.

This past weekend, my co-coach (who's a dude) went out in West Edmonton Mall and bought himself dress shoes and dress pants for competition. He then decided an hour before warmup that he wanted a different dress shirt, went to the store, bought one and had them steam it so he could wear it. Then kept asking our team how good he looked all night. What a goof.
