I've been through about every brand of cheer shoe known to mankind...so here's my cheer shoe encyclopedia..
Kaepas- I've only ever used the ones with the blue grips on the bottoms (circa '02?..do they still make those?), and they were great from what I remember. Held up pretty well too.
Nikes- Used these for school cheer..hurt my feet a ton. Nike cheer flash were very narrow and SO heavy. I guess they were good for sideline cheer though because they definitely held up well and were very easy to clean being they're basically made of plastic..
Reebok- I got a severe foot injury and my doctor recommended the high tops for me, and they were pretty comfy for practice but I couldn't imagine them holding up for competitions through an entire season. Were cheap and only about $40 though.
No Limits- We had their nicer shoe with more leather, and they were awful. I ordered a size big because the person fitting us said they ran small, but by the third time I had worn them, they were stretched out past a point of no return and were literally 2 sizes too big. I recommend that if these are required by your gym, get a half size or whole size down because they stretch out sooo much. Oh and my teammates had holes in their bottoms and their toes were peeping out of the top of the shoe by the third month having them...company was nice and replaced them though.
Varsity- First time wearing them, and they're ok. We got the last pass shoe this season. It has taken a very long time to break them in. Practicing in them about 20 times wasn't enough so I wore them around my house a couple times...and they're still not broken in, so I only wear them to comps because I'm required. They hurt my feet because the sole just won't get soft. My feet don't sweat as much though lol.
Nfinity- lord praise nfinity. There's only one shoe I've not liked by them called the "Tyger"...and I've owned almost all their shoes since 2003. The only reason I didn't like that shoe was because it was super bulky and almost as heavy as Nikes...but their shoes literally form to your foot after you wear them a bunch and they get so comfortable. So yeah.

This is right on the money. Our gym has been using the reeboks for about 5 years, and they hold up nicely. They're one of the few with a leather upper. The year before we switched to the high tops, we had 3 ankle injuries that were all semi-ridiculous - rolls during jumps and one rolled coming off of a shoulder sit. None since we switched. The price is good, too. Our parents would bug out if I told them we were ordering $80 shoes.

The college squad I coach uses Nikes (at their request). They're a small squad, with only 5 tumblers and pretty basic stunting, and they like them. Fine for sideline, but i wouldn't want to tumble in them. They're cute and easy to keep clean - like she said - because they're plastic. :)

I only ever have had kaepas...I've been cheering for 9yrs too! I had the ones with the changeable coloured triangles on the side now I have plain ones they kinda look like nyfinitys not sure what kind they are exactly just that the guy said they are good for tumbling ad flying. There also really nice because when you tie them if u pull the laces forward towards your toe it tightens a and that go's around the back of your shoe to your heel/ankle and supports it pretty well. :)

There also my 4th pair. I just recently put a hole in the ball of my shoe. I just put zebra duck tape on it. I don't have the heart to buy new ones. They fit perfectly to my feet. That and I personalized them so much! I have co-Ed beads on the laces of the right shoe and written on the arch or the left. Also have breathe and perform on the toes and write DOnt quIT on the back of the heels <3 love them so much

Chasse makes a shoe called "Ace" that looks almost exactly like the Nfinity Evolution. I've thought about trying it for Babydonna for practice, but haven't yet. I think it runs for something like $28.

I bought those for my cp about a month ago. So far so good and she really likes them.

The Chasse Clouds are really nice shoes. We never got a chance to use them though because cp outgrew hers before we got them. I ended up selling them on Ebay. Right now she has a pair of Converse Flip & Twist...she loves them! They are lighter than the hi top Reeboks she had but heavier than the Nfinitys. I think they are 6.8oz?
I am not an Nfinity fan, my opinion is if I am spending $80+ for a pair of shoes they better last more than a season. Every pair I have bought her have always blown out before the season is even over. I can buy a pair of Chasse Aces for a fraction of the price and have them last just as long.

I'm an nfinity girl, but I've been trying to keep the costs down for my athletes with the economy, so I've been branching out. I had our prep team test out the kaepa stellarlytes last year and they were fine. I still don't think they match up to nfinity's but they're good enough and have a similar look. After reading about the Chasse Aces on this board I looked into them, and since they're so cheap, ordered a pair. I'm very impressed so far. They look almost exactly like nfinity's but were $25. They also arrived in 3 days! My only complaint so far is that they fit perfectly like a glove around the middle of the foot, and then around the top part of the foot feel looser (or maybe my foot is just narrow.) If they continue to hold up, then we'll be switching to these next season!

Lazydaisytoo I ordered the size I wear in just about every cheer shoe, and its pretty true to size. I could have ordered half a size down and probably still have been ok though. The looseness I feel may actually be because they are a tad to big.

Thanks so much! CP does love her Nfinitys, and I just bought her a new pair. I am tempted by the inexpensive Chasse shoes, though. Maybe I'll get her a pair just so she can rotate them. I think her feet are about done growing, so it's not like I need to worry about her outgrowing them.

Babydonna has gone through two pairs of Nfinitys this season so far. The sole of one shoe basically just came off. I don't know if it was because of the bases' grips on her shoe when she did stunts or what. It looks like the bottom just twisted right off the shoe. Weird. For a little while we had them taped together at the toe with duck tape. We finally had to just pitch one pair and get her another pair. She only wears them to the gym...no outside wear. For $80, I'd think they'd hold up better.

My CP has had both Nfinity and Kaepa shoes. She had Kaepa every year but last year. Last year she had the Nifinity. She felt the Nfinity was lighter but too flexible. She broke her foot 3x the year she wore them and they did not last more than two months before they were too worn out and needed to be replaced. Most of the parents complained about how short of a lifespan these shoes had. Everyone had to buy at least two pairs to get from our first comp in late Dec to our last one in March. We went back to Kaepa this year. We now have the Kaepa Stellarlyte and love them. CP says they are light but give her foot support without losing flexibility. She also says it is easier for her bases to hold her foot in these shoes. Not sure why that is but she sees it as a real benefit to the Kaepas.

My kids love the Nfinity Evolutions. The Vengeance just don't hold up. As a parent my biggest complaint with Nfinity is lack of inventory and price. We visited their store at NCA and were actually told by the people working it to not buy the shoes from them because they were seriously back logged! If you have a business with little to no inventory you have no business.
