All-Star No More 'nationals'

I'd be interested to apply that standard to this years competitions and see how many "nationals" there actually were. I think it's safe to assume Indy, CHEERSPORT and NCA but I wonder how many/if any others would qualify.
Depends on what your minimum would be for state/team representation..If it were over, say 200 teams or 5 states, that might take out a good number of competitions.

TBH I think the problem with the term national champion is the things it implies. Let us take Large Senior. There are 5 teams I can think of represented off the top of my head: New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. This is probably one of THE most competitive divisions. Yet only 5% of the country, that is coming to mind, is represented. Does that really make that division a 'Nationals'? Honestly no. No more than the super bowl produces a World Champion (cheerleading should honestly brag MORE about its World Champion than football. The fact that any superbowl winner calls itself a World Champion is just damn silly... and I LOVE football).

So let's get rid of national champion altogether. I do believe winning the highest caliber events: NCA, CHEERSPORT, The Majors / Jamfest SUPER DUPER EXTRAORDINARY NATIONALS, and UCA do stand out... But because you were an NCA champion. A CHEERSPORT Grand Champion.

Idea though... cause my grand ideas all get shot down: All competitions an EP puts on are limited to 10 state attendance and NOT allowed to be called a Nationals. A Nationals is a competition that allows all 50 states (and other countries) to participate.

While I think the idea is logical, it'd be a tough sell as a whole package. I think for two years (this would be a great thing for this cycle), we should have it limited by number of states and participants, and then slowly raise the numbers designating what is a 'nationals.'

Naa. Thanks anyway.

For real sport credibility IMO there should be one national championship system. Maybe it's a sub event of Worlds, maybe a new version of it.

All competition throughout the year leads up to this and THEN it would be special.

I think we're past that to work correctly.

Again what's the issue to banning the word 'Nationals'?

I think the far greater issue is separating the same division 3 & 4 & 5 times at the same competition.
Do we really need:
Sm Jr 3 A
Sm Jr 3 B
Sm Jr 3 C
Sm Jr 3 Small Gym A
Sm Jr 3 Small Gym B

That is way more of an issue than NCA/UCA/Cheersport/Jammie calling their competition a "National"

5+ states and 250+ teams = nationals

But the #of states is a lot harder to get out west than it would in New England

This is very similar to the idea I posted in the USAsf and varsity independence thread. Something should be done

I think this is a problem absolutely... like how can you call yourself a sm jr 3 national champ?
