This is with a Jose Eber curling wand.
literally perfection. How did you do this?!

LOL, when I saw that someone tagged me in a 'Cheer Hair' thread, I thought: why could my presence possibly be requested in a hair convo. Now, I get it. #hairrelease

I was late to the game on twitter when I ran across the countdown. Just thought I would take advantage when I could.

If only there was a "Cheer Pedicure" thread, I would have the trifecta!

Mom did it in sections with a wand. Start with the bottom layer of hair, take a section and spray with superhold hairspray then wrap around the wand. You alternate direction as you go. One curl wraps around the wand to the left, the next to the right. That way they kind of sit a bit better. Once you finish the underneath layer, you keep going up in layers until you've done all your hair. This was the first time we tried to use the wand - am sure next time will hopefully be better and faster!

when my hair was long enough to curl i was really OCD about that, so i made sure wipe it of with a damp cloth after every use. But i guess it depends on how often you use it and which level of OCD you have. ;)

edit: totally though wondered how "often" to clean it. :p but a slightly damp cloth on a lukewarm iron worked for me. :)

Hairstylist tip: oven cleaner....works like a charm and doesn't kill the finish. A real old school tip I'm glad was shared with me.

Any tips on curling your hair by yourself? My arms get so tired and I can't see the back of my head to make sure I don't miss strands.

I do it all the time for auditions- what I do is I clip the hair I'm NOT using in a bun on the top of my head (I start with bottom sections first). That way I know where all the hair I've taken out is. I curl back to front for each section (I find it's easier to see that way) and I use a small clip to keep each section out of the way (the ones I haven't curled yet). That way I know what I've done already. I go bottom to top for my head on each side, then do the crown last..I personally curl my crown like I'm using rollers, but that's how I like my hair. Hope that helps!

Omg I used oven cleaner on my flatiron and it did take the finish off. Since I had a warranty I sent it back to babyliss (which is conair) and they sent me a brand new one for free!

Question: How do you do your hair in between a two day comp? Do you wash it or leave it? Comb it out or...? :)
One of the things I love about the system we've worked out for hair is that we don't redo CP's curls. Bump gets redone - and she got more compliments on her curls day 2 than day 1. Go figure. Score for this mama!
