I loved the competition! I thought it was very well run and "similar" to the worlds experience for non worlds teams. Expensive ? Yes but we shared a condo with other families (Encantada resorts- totally recommend it) and I actually spent less $ this weekend than I did for Cheersport. Disney tickets included.

1,000,000 shimmies to Cheer Savannah's Small Senior. Their pyramid was my favorite part of any routine this weekend :)

I have watched Cheer Savannah's pyramid over and over and over again....loved loved loved it the end part where they dropped to the floor! Loved their dance also!!!! That routine was totally entertaining was so rooting for them to hit on Sunday. Their uniforms were also so cute with the big bow on back and the ribbons up the sleeves.

We had a great weekend at UCA. My only complaint was competing at Indiana Jones. It took forever to get in to the park (even at 7:45am), it was freezing and the solar glare on the mat in the morning was dangerous (at 9am half the mat was in the bright sun and half in the shade). I can understand why they wouldn't put higher level teams there, and I can't imagine what they do if it rains. It was really stressful to get crossovers back to WWOS and the shuttles were not running as quickly as we were told they would. But other than that it was a very well run comp and we had a blast. I loved seeing some of the international teams compete! I hope we don't go every year due to the expense, but it is a competition I would love to go to every few years. Sorry people had bad sportsmanship experiences:(. We had some negative comments via twitter from athletes on teams that weren't even at the competition but we had only positive experiences with the teams that were there!

Yes the photographer in hollywood studios was bad! They took a picture of a hair piece that fell out of one of the kid's hair. Just the hair piece. Not one kid's arm or leg or anything was in the picture.

Now that's funny!

definitely agree about Indiana Jones. Our team had to wait outside for about a half hour & it was so cold! that was probably the only negative i experienced at the competition. the special shuttles were a great help though. we had to get from the WWOS to Indiana Jones & they were nice enough to let my entire team of 31 girls and coaches squish in that little bus.

I know it's not level 5 but my large senior 3 just went from fifth to first!! Still in shock!!

Congratulations!! I wish I had seen your team's performances. We had to bolt after our performance to catch our Lg Sr CoEd 4 at HP on both days.

One of your parents came up to our team after awards and told the girls how impressed she was with their performance...so sweet.

thank you! i did catch the second half of your team and they looked great!

Really my only complaint about things from this past weekend was scoring. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, for both my CP's team and others. CP's team had no deductions either day, but judges killed them on execution. I understand it's subjective, but they scored over 3 points lower with a cleaner, tighter, more difficult routine than they had in December at WSF, which is the last time we competed on the Varsity score sheet.

Yeah the scoring was a little out of wack in places, just when you compare certain teams technique scores or random little things. But we signed up to be judged so we did haha.

Alright, let's discuss Disney.
I thought the competition was pretty great. For everything you pay, you seem to get a lot. My parents and kids had a BLAST. The logistics that must go into this are crazy to me, because there were a TON of crossovers and different venues in completely different places. They had a special shuttle just for coaches and crossovers, and when they fell behind and our crossovers missed their warm up and performance, they were super nice and allowed us to push back. I thought it was expensive, but I think people got their money's worth. Most of my kids went to the parks at least 3 times, and I think they all got the fun Disney experience. Disney has top notch service in everything. I would recommend going to anyone because it really was fun!

The other thing I didn't like was this-I have never in my life met so many rude people ever. It blows my mind how mean cheerleaders and parents can be. Making fun of our dances, talking crap about our accents, it's unreal.... A team that was in 10th out of 11 was just downright nasty to us and laughing at us. They finished 11th out of 11. Where are all the nice gyms at?! Even our parents were like "is it because we are a small gym?" We met one set of coaches that were amazing (River City), and I felt like everyone else was trying out to be the next cast of Mean Girls. Am I imagining this? I really hope I am and it was just us, but it was not just one or two people. It was over and over again, and it started at the airport and never stopped.

My only other complaint-scoring. I might cry if I discuss it, but I'm waiting for videos first... :(

Scoring was absolutely disappointing. I am still in shock at what happened with our Sm J4 team. I never want to go back. Ridiculous
