Anyone else find it ironic that the "growcheer" proposal is all about transparency yet they are going to go mute while "discussions" occur?

I'm not sure I understand what you need by that

Sent from the Fierce Board App that's cooler than ACEDAD's

"We will not be commenting publicly while discussions are going on" said by growcheer. I thought one if the major points was transparency?

I do. But trying to be realistic from both sides of the table, I am quite sure that USASF/Varsity does not want every detail that is being discussed leaking out. Even though IMO secrecy on some things and some of those things were years later discovered to be untruths is what got them to be in this mess in the first place. They are getting slammed through social media and they can no longer control the message as adroitly as they once did.(Why do I see the villains in Scooby Doo cartoons after they get caught here saying "... and I would of gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids!" :D) Those that challenge them are no longer the little small independent gyms and coaches with zero pull/voice/true knowledge who just heard something or are reading tea leaves in the industry, but those coaches, gym owners, EP's, and parents that have connections, capital and are committed to the growth of the entire industry for everybody. Thanks to social media now they can no longer silence those that see through the spin and nuanced wordings. That has got to be frustrating to them.

I am also quite sure that while growcheer group is willing to accommodate that "at this time" to get some honest discussion and movement on these issues, rather than what we have had for years. I am also sure that this was probably something they did not like either. Yet they know they have been portrayed as not going through the process, venting on message boards is not the way to handle this, etc. They are at least trying to not appear like rogues and rabble rousers - which IMO is the way USASF/Varsity has portrayed in the past anyone who vehemently or publicly disagreed with them, their positions, or the true state of the connection between USASF/Varsity.

This is a common tactic used in numerous negotiations, lawsuits, contract disputes, etc. Be quiet and we will talk it out. Keep talking and the deal is off. So it is a compromise of convenience for both sides. For now...

I completely understand it's a tactic. I still find it ironic.
There are many things I agree with in this proposal but sitting back and looking at the history of things I have to laugh.

The "keeping the conversations private" is not concerning….but I would like to understand there is a timetable in place. This cannot go on forever….

That is my concern. Lay out a roadmap so people know what all the game plan is.
