I thought top 5 scores of Cheer Evolution were suppose to get partials. Why didn't CFWP IOAG5 get a partial, especially with an ineligible team in second?? :s
Also, being as judges gave out at-large bids with the consideration of how successful a team will be, I'm surprised Flyers Lg Coed got a bid. Solely because they only have 2 boys!! Yes, they are a large team, but not large COED. They were great this weekend though, I must say

Because they are only allowed (or maybe its their policy? But I know its a rule they stand by) to give 1 paid bid per program. So even if it had been lets say Sharks with the top 4 highest scores, they would have given the one sharks team with the highest score a partial paid and the next 3 sharks teams an at-large so that the team in fifth position from a different gym would then be awarded the next partial. It was like this last year too when a PCT team scored higher than cheer motion but cheer motion got the partial.
As for the at-larges, I do not think they necessarily went by how well teams will do at worlds...because all those small senior teams will come like 45th and Flyers large coed will come last . I think they just call it a "judges decision" which implies the teams that were to their liking, consistent worthy of going to worlds.
As for Flyers Inspire (large coed 5) I can speak for this team since I coach them... will they win worlds ? No. Will they make finals? No. This is quite obvious BUT I think we were awarded a bid simply because we demonstrated consistency and potential (near perfect runs both days) and judges like that. ALSO they managed to outscore MANY international teams even though tumbling is worth 35% on the senior scoresheet and 10% on the international scoresheet.

Here is day 2 if you are interested:

oh yes! You're absolutely right. I had forgotten about that rule. Thank you!
And well yes, I agree with everything you said. I was told that judges did look at how they thought I team would do at worlds, but I also think consistency and perfection also took a role- for example, your coed team. They were great both days! I love watching every flyers team because I know that they will be amazing! so kudos to you and your program on the bids.

ETA: I'd love to see that team in LgAG, just to spice things up ;)

I love where Canadian cheer is going ... I was really impressed with quite a few teams last weekend!!
