Mother Theresa? Please, that girl could not walk one day in Cori's fantastic designer heels. Ten minutes in the spotlight that Cori and Trinity have had to endure this season and Mother Theresa would have to break her saintly vows and smack a few people.

a) Why do we have to drag Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa) into this?

b) Have you never read anything about the controversy she endured through her life? She's got her fair share of haters. (Criticism of Mother Teresa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

c) I'm pretty sure she didn't "smack a few people" who disagreed with her, rather, she prayed for them. I'm also pretty sure more people know who Blessed Teresa of Calcutta was than know about Trinity and Cori--or who even know what allstar cheerleading even is.

d) Please, tell me more about how founding and running a religious order to feed the poor and help AIDS victims in a non-Christian country (that eventually expanded and is now present in 133 countries) is way easier than running a cheerleading gym that is only under a spotlight that they created. Right.

I don't care where she's from. The conversation wouldn't even exist had certain situations not occurred previously. I'm a smart person, I get what she was doing. And if I'm not mistaken, didn't someone get on this forum talking about the wonderful things the owner was doing for disadvantaged kids just a few months ago? And as I stated earlier, allstar is a business. It's not for everyone and the people of color who have their children participate can afford it. Last I checked, my child has the same advantages as many children in that very area and quite possibly better grades. With the exception of teens driving a Mercedes (no matter how much I have, that'll never happen). At the end of the day, I was offended. Point. Blank. Period.
Also, last time I checked- doesn't F5 have a fair amount of African-Americans on their squad and there are often jokes/references here on the fb about those parents having money bc they always have a different uni each year and two unis for two day comps, etc. Plus IIRC, they showed up in a limo to Worlds last year, so yeah... ignorant.

SE also has its fair share within the program, so that type casting/stereotyping is not ok!!

*Edit, I'm not saying everyone on those teams is loaded or making that stereotype myself, only pointing out that we all know allstar isn't cheap and there are plenty of African-Americans in the sport AND on highly competitive level 5 teams where the cost is usually significantly higher than many other levels.

Yes they're insanely talented. And the irony of it all is just a few weeks ago, the Lyndsay Lohan mentoring trash was floating around. It's like they are doing the absolute MOST. How about just sit down and teach the kids something new. A new tumbling pass, stunt, dance... something that won't have people looking at us sideways.
yeah great mentor.... 8hrs ago SMH back to rehab

Why thank you, honey! If I sound condescending to you, it must mean I am above you. Trinity's owner, Cori Davenport, didn't say ghetto. That was Katie's word. But clearly it is ok for people on the F-Bored that Katie is a racist, but it's not ok that Trinity provides scholarships. And I'll let you in on a secret... MANY gyms in the area offer scholarships and financial assistance, but Trinity is the only one getting shade thrown their way over it.

I love how you can tell when some one is so obviously from a certain program...

That's not inherently bad. It's the inability to acknowledge that there are other good programs/teams, etc. out there, bash any team/program except your own, consistently bashing on one gym/team, and flagrant ignorance displayed by some people that is more of an issue.
