I would agree that UCA isn't exactly the level of competition of CHEERSPORT or NCA nationals right now. It is, however, one of only three competitions a year in which all of our teams have people to compete against, and a very large competition in it's own right! UCA nationals was running 4 arenas for 14 hours both days, not to mention some really strong programs in attendance which means you have to hit your routine to win, and if you are able to compete and hit your routine 6 times in a month that's pretty impressive.

Anyway, from our gym:
Orange
Scarlet
Yellow
Grape
Peppermint
Mango

Won all three (I'm pretty sure anyway, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't matter what you call it but it's a pretty cool accomplishment, and something that very few teams can do, even really good teams.

Of course, I don't think an EP has to give out as many bids as they're eligible, so that might not be the best indicator.

EPs have to award all of the paid bids. It's part of their contract with USASF and serves as their annual dies.

For level 5's I would say Triple Crown would be NCA, Cheersport, and Worlds? I know that doesn't apply to all team's though. Maybe replace UCA with Summit once that becomes a bigger, successful comp.
That's what I thought it meant too.

i would say although the majors is a big competition its hard to include because many teams decline the invitation. same with uca, for large senior it was just stars and peach. cheersport for sure cause almost everyone was there, worlds, and im not sure what i think would be the third. just my thoughts though :)

Do you know if more people decline than those who are offered?

I didn't think they had to award all that they were eligible for. They have to award all that they advertise for though.

How about calling NCA-CHEERSPORT-UCA the "Varsity Brands Triple Crown"?

Curious how many people actually go to all 3.

Yes, last year's debacle with NCA giving out more bids than announced, didn't Justin say that they were eligible to give out 8, but only advertised 7? So when they had an issue they went to the USASF and said "hey can we give out the extra bid we're eligible for?"

at UCA every level 5 team got a bid and they still had 5 extra at large bids..

This may be true, but being a very large competition at the end of the season means you are eligible to give out MANY bids but also means a large portion of the best teams already have bids... Worlds bids become, statistically, easier and easier to come by as the season goes on because there is less competition for them

LOL, you are correct, except it wasn't a 'DEBACLE.' It was a 'situation.' ;)
We were guaranteed 7 Paid Bids because of our numbers from the previous year, but, because of our current enrollment at the time, were eligible to give out 8.
