The USASF isn't really in a position to do this without a common rubric to work from.

I disagree. USASF has a score sheet that all teams attending their event have to use. What I think they should do is IF you would like to be eligible to award bids to their event you should be required to use their score sheet. Why this hasn't already happened is beyond me. I know I'm crazy but I also asked for a judges association THREE YEARS AGO!

This only works IF they have a judges association at the same time. I've competed at comps that use the worlds scoresheet (this weekend, in fact, at a bid event) and if the judges aren't trained in it, the scores are kind of all over the place.

You're only talking about World's divisons. What about levels 1-R5?

All-girl 6 teams can't get into the upper range at all. It's not possible and Justin admitted as much to me this summer (or fall) when the scoresheet was first released.
Again, FOR THE RECORD, not a 'debacle,' but an admission that all-girl teams inherently couldn't score as high as coed teams. ;) LOL Adjusting the score sheet for L6 Coed and All Girl would mean creating separate rubric for Coed and All Girl (a road we are BEGINNING to venture down with the current 'unassisted stunting' requirements for Coed teams).

Hey I didn't use the word debacle in this post! I just think it should all be relative and that there should be skills that would put an all-girl team into that range. Though I suppose you'd have to score a coed team who does group stunts in that range as well which kind of defeats the purpose. Hmm.

Is there a person/business where you can submit team videos and ask someone to analyze it and score it based on whatever score sheet? Yes, I knowthe coach should be able to do this for free; however in some of the smaller gyms, that is just another task to add to the lengthy list. Plus, I think teams by benefit from a fresh set of unbiased eyes. Then the scorer could recommend changes to improve the score.

The NCATA teams single base stunts. I am 43 I can single base a stunt so who says women can't? Maybe not your average female but there are plenty. Look at Oregon they have more than 12 females who can.

If we taught females who do acrobatics to transfer their weight through their hips and not their shoulders like the males that would be start to seeing single and double based stunts for females more often.

Also just a question will the non-Varsity companies that are event producers get their judges from their competitor?

Are there any other judges organization in sport that was started and ran by a uniform company/manufacturer? If so, did this help them? Slow them down? Create conflicts of interest?

just for the record the idea of having one score sheet is an important step forward for safety. Everyone should know far in advance what is expected of them all season consistently.

A single based stunt doesn't get you into the top tier on the Varsity scoresheet for level 6. Unassisted rewinds and unassisted double ups do. There are very few women who throw those. And certainly not enough on a team to get into that range - you have to have a majority of the team doing it.

There's nothing stopping an all-girl team from throwing those skills and getting into that range. But it's not happening anytime soon.

There are few because we haven't trained them to do it. So in a sense we are saying the same thing. I only mentioned the stunt and should have clarified entries or dismounts.

What was important is that we need to train female bases to use proper body mechanics and doing it like a male will give then less power and control. Our strength is in our hips, legs and butt, not our shoulders.

3 years ago I would have never thought I would see so many women single base stunt and now look, so the difficult entries and dismounts will come too.

Varsity score sheet doesn't really fit level 6 well. But it's great for lvl 1-5.

To my knowledge there is not. I do know there are tons of people on this board that would have no problem watching and critiquing your video. My only suggestions is be careful what you wish for.

I really don't see an EP being able to watch a routine and officially "score" based off their score sheet. I'm sure anyone could (should) be able to watch a video and tell you if you're in range. I feel like its just part of coaching to watch your teams vids and watch other teams vids, compare/contrast etc. small or large gym.

So, what is the setup of this judge's association? I am all for judges having an independent organization, but is this independent?
