I'm not an advocate for limiting at large bids. I'm an advocate for holding this event in a place/venue that can accommodate the masses.

Agreed, but under the current circumstance of an unbreakable contract  it would be a more effective "now" solution.

I just wonder if they have some sort of contract with Disney now that says so many people have to come, or if it just comes down to shear profit and how much both Varsity...or excuse me...USASF/IASF...and Disney really make here and they don't want to limit those unpaid bids becasue those are the teams they make all their cash money on!
Wait...everybody doesn't already know this ;)

I don't know if a contract exists or needs to exist. But of course nobody (Varsity/USASF/Disney) is going to turn down money until it effects them negatively. And so far it hasn't other than a few angry outbursts on the Internet.

Varsity and USASF can keep their books a secret on their back room dealing. But it should be interesting to see what happens when the Disney contract expires. My fear is an announcement of an extension, due to no other suitable facilities being available.

1. Agreed
2. yes everybody knows this.
3. Agreed again........a little negative publicity from the few that can't get in isn't hurting them in the least.
4. I don't think there'd be any announcement on a contract extension. It would just happen quietly. I dread this day. This is the day Varsity/USASF says "We don't care about the people who made this the spectator sport it is today." (Meaning fans, parents, kids, gyms, etc)

Honestly I feel they've already "said" that. Contracts can be broken. Overpriced uniforms should be QC'd for obvious flaws. Safety should be a priority...on and off the floor!

I completely agree with you! I had my time competing in Worlds and now that it's over and my mom got to watch me. Every year since, we go as spectators and we just discussed it and we are definitely not going on Monday anymore. Which makes us both sad, but we would rather give up our seats at this point in hopes that a parent can see their child. It's just with the way they are doing it this year that really made us come to that decision! I think it's crappy for people at all aspects this year!
My biggest fear is NOT being able to get in and see my CP and this fear is such that I can't even think about it without stressing out. So thanks to those who are sympathetic to those parents who are in the same predicament as myself: so worried about spending all of this money to get to Worlds only to be locked out of seeing our CP at finals.

This is my first year im going to Worlds with my mom as a spectator. The hotels booked, already ordered my worlds shirts, I was so excited until i saw this thread.....I dont know if I have to worry about seating because I have a close friend that works for Jamie Christian. But how much is admission for one day, both days, or fri-mon? and where can i find a schedule to know what sessions I need t stay for. and what day usually is the final large senior session on?

Here's the info that you will need:

The schedule won't be out for awhile (April 9th, I believe they pick the order of performance) but you can find when prelims, semis & finals will be there.

$45 for Saturday.........$45 for Sunday........$30 per session on Monday (and there are 3 sessions)

If there is a contract with Disney then maybe this Summit thing is being created to replace the worlds commitment? Swap in one competition for the other and move worlds somewhere that can actually accommodate it?

It's our first year going and we are LAG. Should I just buy the feed and watch in the room? I have 2 in wheelchairs and cannot sit there for 12+ hours to save our seats. And, I think the sessions are just for Monday. What do you suggest?

For Majors, which I assume is less congested than Worlds, they held the parents in a room and took us in first. Then the "fans" were let in after the parents had a seat. It was great! Even a JamFest employee said they knew without our check books there would be no cheerleaders. I guess this has never happened for Worlds? Couldn't they give each athlete one pass per day for a parent to get in?

From what I remember, handicap seating is designated at the back of the Milkhouse. Yes, people will be standing there when there are no seats. I don't recall ever actually seeing anybody in wheelchairs in the are, but I'd *hope* people would move if they were actually needed.

So I wouldn't worry so much about saving a seat. At least not for 12 hours. However, it is an interesting question, how they will determine when the Milkhouse is full and not allow people to come in anymore. So I certainly would not wait till an hour before the division starts to show up either.
