I'm on an open all-girl team and I think it's JUST AS difficult as co-ed. Our schedules are so all over the place; and it is difficult to practice unless it is late at night. Regardless I love it!
We have coached both many times. In our experience, coed is much more difficult to manage than all-girl. (That is basically a compliment to all girl, by the way.)

How many teams does your coaches typically work with? How many coaches are on each team?

Coaches work with anywhere from 1-5 teams. 3-4 is the norm.

Most teams have 3 coaches. A few have 2 and a few have 4, depending on the size and age of the team. There is no "head coach" for any team.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked. Are CA considering offering an Open Level 4 team in the future?
Open division teams are difficult to manage and extremely difficult to turn a profit on. We typically have our hands full with the "regular" teams, so spending that much time and effort into another team that doesn't make business sense is not likely.

How do you determine the total number of coaches for a team? how do you manage to NOT have a "head coach"

Generally, it is a coach per 12 on a team or so, but that varies from situation to situation. The only team we have gotten a parent complaint this year for "not having enough coaches" was our tiny team, which had 4 coaches for 19 kids. (and the lowest tuition rate, I might add) Tiny 1 and Open Coed 6 have the unfortunate combination of being easily the hardest teams to coach AND the least profitable. Tiny 1 is much easier to justify because those kids will eventually become the backbone of your youth/junior/senior programs and it is an investment in your future. (plus they are cute.)

I'm not sure I understand your other question. The coaches all work as a team. If someone were ever not considerate of the other coaches, then they probably wouldn't remain a coach very long.

3 to 4 coaches per team and parents complain? We have 7 teams in our gym(every team has about 20 athletes) including a medium coed worlds team and only have 2 main coaches and 2 tumbling coaches(we only had one but just hired a new one) but this is only our first season.
It is my experience that some parents will complain no matter what you do.

How come their has not been a 2nd or 3rd location opening for Cheer Athletics? With gym owners having multiple locations how is it one of IF NOT THE BEST All Star programs in the country not expanded throughout texas?

How do you handle parental complaints? I know this is probably a very situational question, but if you have a parent complain about a lot of issues, do you sit down and talk with them, ask them to not be in the gym/viewing area during practices, etc.? Especially when it escalates to the talk not working, or them hounding you about questions repeatedly?
