Not sure what the drama is between you and xtremeteal4life but for this statement alone, you can kiss my a$$.

Take it as you see fit. The statement was not meant as a slam on parents. It was a a commentary on what facts they have since they were attempting to call me out. Of course when we pick and choose what we want to out of a post we can make anything seem negative...I'm done.

You would be surprised how much us "parents" know...coaches tend to forget us quiet ones are there and have no problem spilling beans. Also that attitude towards parents on this board is probably one of the big reasons we can't get them to leave the parent section...which by the way is quickly becoming just as large and busy as the main board.
Oh and remember those of us that are "nothing but a parent" pay your salary...just saying...

As a completely disinterested observer I saw the "nothing but a parent" quip as a slam on parents. Frankly, I'm a little tired of being disrespected because I'm "just" a parent....like the only thing I'm good for is writing a check.

I really don't want a lot. Honestly, I don't. But, I definitely don't want to be treated like something the dog just left in the front yard.

We have a new gym in Nicholasville, Ky (right outside of Lexington) that opened in March. It's called Kentucky Reign. We are super excited for the 2013-2014 season to start!

As I said it wasn't intended to be a slam. Take it as you will. Not really worth arguing any further.

I love the "just a parent" parents but that thread belongs in the coaches room

Can't believe no one picked up on "just an athlete".
Wish this was in 18+ because I have a few "just a's" to add that also aren't intended as slams...bless their hearts

Thank you! Even though I realize you're not defending me, I tagged her in that one comment bc last night I read through the CEA expanding thread to see if there had been something I missed about jayparkk being involved w/opening a new gym (bc I was clearly out of the loop on that one as I already mentioned, since he's still cheering on CE and all..) and I just found her comments in the thread incredibly rude, mean spirited, hostile, and very presumptuous (since it was not actually CEA expanding, yet her comments were directed towards CSP and CEA).

I have not responded to her comments thereafter bc I had no intention of perpetuating drama, nor an attempt to actually "defend" CSP, rather in hopes that she'd actually see it's nothing more than two new (well at least one of them has never coached formally to my knowledge since he's still on a Senior level 5 team about to compete at worlds), very young adults opening a NEW gym w/o any CEA affiliation..in fact, they're leaving CEA and opening a new gym. Don't we hear a lot on here about the "small" gyms and the concern that the "big" ones are going to "gobble" everyone up? This athlete and coach seem to be following their dreams and risk a new business venture...kudos to them!

These are some of the comments and I haven't even gone past page four today and won't for the sake of everyone's sanity...but apparently she really didn't have all of her "facts" straight and/or jumped the gun. I think it's still incredibly mean spirited seeing as how one of the gym's new owners jayparkk came on here and addressed the questions and seems genuinely excited about his new venture.

I would argue, with a bias, that my program offers the best product available in the state, but you take the coach of our level 5 team, who is loved by many, and you place him at another program in the area...I promise you many kids would leave just to follow a coach that they love. So there in lies the problem for me. A coach leaves a program and goes to CEA to coach. So this creates now this concept that should a gym open in their old home town, then athletes will leave their old program to come cheer for them again in the new program. How many athletes are commuting from Pittsburgh to North Carolina to where that gym is needed? A single coach moving back to the city isn't a valid reason for opening a gym with knowing Courtney's business smarts.

So you're right the location does stand a chance at being successful from a business standpoint. But as I stated in the original comment I made: if those are the means she is willing to stoop to in order to make another buck then I have absolutely no respect for her or her program.

There is more to the story than is known, or will be known, and as I said its no ones business but those involved, and its not my place to share. I respect Jacob as someone I have worked with previously. I do not know, nor do I care to know, Caliegh, and I will leave it at that. Take it for what you will. Chastise as you see fit. My opinion is just that, and I am entitled to it. The facts I know support my opinion. If you need to belittle and berate, or hang on every word to feel better about yourself in this situation, then feel free to do so, it will not sway or affect my opinion. Now lets leave it at that, because as I stated...this is not worth arguing over.

Sometimes context gets lost in the translation when communicating in writing. Given past history of a poster, I didn't take the comment as a slam to parents. I get what FamousMatty was referring to. Carry on....
