I saw on the Varsity Summit page that Disney is sold out of group rooms and they are now asking team to apply for off -property housing. How does this happen when it doesn't appear that their isn't nearly as many teams registered as anticipated? Did they not block enough rooms? Is this typical for Disney competitions?

We have gone to UCA the last 4 years and never experienced this. I think they may not have reserved as many rooms as they normally do, but that is purely a guess. Doesn't really make sense.

There must be something huge going on that weekend other than The Summit. There is not a room left on property with double beds

My daughter's team won a bid at WSF and accepted it right away and we were first told to find our own hotels but then our gym got a block of rooms at Swan/Dolphin just a week or two ago but I know a few parents found rental homes with a pool...you wouldn't all be together but maybe that is an option and 2 or 3 families can share. Since it's the first year and think they will learn something as they go!!

We're renting a house in Windsor Hills. Has a private pool and also a community pool with a big slide. Web have stayed here multiple times for baseball, and it's a very nice gated community and the rates are very cheap for huge houses/condos. It's also only 10 minutes away from WWoS. Look into them if you can't find a place!

We were one of the last teams to get into a block at the all-star resort. We were told that they were moving (some or all) of the paid bids off site and then at-larges were a booked in at a first come, first serve basis. I just dont understand how they didn't plan for this accurately =/

We were one of the first teams to get a paid bid and we had to go to the AllStar.... We didn't want to! more than half the team is staying somewhere else with their parents and only benefiting from the admission to the comp for the paid bid
