Just wondering if there is an opportunity to get feedback from everyone on what they desire and value from a video/DVD vendor at Cheer competitions? Due to the high use of handheld cameras.... everyone seems to have an iPad these days.. we have seen DVD sales plummet. Many smaller regional events do not have video or photography vendors anymore. (does that make a difference?) It also seems that many people would rather use their own camera and share their own video online than purchase something professionally recorded, even though in the crowd down in front watching a camera takes away the experience and "feel" of being at a live event. (many people say they walk away feeling that they missed it) What do you think? Add to the mix the fact that many gym owners and coaches prefer that their routines not show up on online until the end of the season.

SEVideo is intensely scrutinizing our business model and direct feedback would be an immense help. With everyone watching their expenditures closely these days, and with competitive cheerleading being an expensive endeavor for parents, we are striving to provide the highest quality product at an affordable price... and still stay in business!

Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Price and to view online. I don't know if there is a way to protect the link to make sure it's viewed by one person, etc. I don't want a DVD and I want it available to view soon. The one mom on our team who ordered the DVD from NCA still didn't have it as of last Thursday.

Also, options to purchase just your team's performance, your division, etc., would be nice.

Thanks "N.Y.C.M." ;) It's next to impossible to protect a video once it is online, although we are working with team and gym on packages at our events so we can put them online... once again, though, many gym owners don't want them online 'til the end of competition season.

I wish I could help you with the disc you purchased at NCA, were not the vendor. Typically we have the DVD available for you to take home the day you buy it and we include the entire division.

Thanks Tamara, we know that price is always a concern... and we try to find ways to make it affordable. Some teams do have a person who will organize a team order... but it shouldn't be the coach. (don't they have enough to do?) We've tried lowering the price at a local event ... and sold the fewest we've ever sold at a competition! (Although I'm not so sure that price was the reason for that) I appreciate your honest feedback.
Yep, it's definitely price whether you think so or not. be consistent with the lower prices. And you could also overlay the actual cheer mix over the routine video. Utilize some varied angles, think about investing in one of those camera poles they use at nca uca and worlds. Interview some athletes for the DVD. Take initiative and set yourself apart!!!! Make it a quality DVD. Make the main menu of the DVD like clips of different moments in people's routines cut together with the same Music overlayed on top of it. With a functional and responsive menu to choose from in front of it. Also make a website that's smartphone compatible for these videos as well and sell the individual routine vids on line for a lot cheaper. Like $1.00... Also organize activities at these comps, like the cheersport harlem shake, that you can film and add to the special features part of the DVD aside from the interviews. DO MORE! SELL FOR LESS! MORE WILL BUY!

SEVideo, I agree with Coach Tamara with regards to pricing. That's unfortunately just the nature of the beast with technology. And on that note, in this day and age, there is no place to be offering standard def DVDs. HD is a must.

9/10 times one thing you will always have a leg up on is viewing angle. Some folks may not care, but I enjoy seeing routines as they were meant to be presented to judges. Taking advantage of having the best seat in the house coupled with HD quality, and I'd certainly be more supportive of professional videos at a reasonable price point. Now whether what the market dictates is a figure you can still make your business profitable, I don't know.

SEVideo I know one video company lets you buy each division for like $10 and then the more you buy, the cheaper each DVD gets. I can't for the life of me remember who it was but I distinctly remember they had A LOT of business that day. :)

the problem with team sales is no one wants to commit until after the kids perform... if they hit yeah, great but if they don't... well we will wait until next time. If your child is on a level 5 and goes on late it's hard to orchestrate a team buying endeavor in that short of a time frame.
I like the idea of the USB... with high def.... at a good price.
I guess for you video guys trying to figure that out will be the challenge! Good luck

I can't even put into words how much I love this team.
They serve me so much I just need to take a quick break from watching in the middle of the routine. I just can't.
Home girl throwing that kick double.

Fierce
She betta werk!

Literally I just can't. With how I feel right now, I think that if I had seen this routine in person this weekend, I may have just died.

Seeing them perform and hit in Dallas was epic! Amazing!

I'm sure the moms of the J5 girls I spoke to, said there was only one girl who was not senior age eligible on the team. But, she also said their gym's location housed the Coed team.

They were incredibly nice! Very, very humble parents and sweet kids. All kidding aside, I really hope Coach Cassie considers eventually making them a World's team. They're incredible!

Me either! I'd love to find that magic number that is affordable to everyone. (we thought we had it at $14/disc with our team package..)

But... the events we film in HD and we upload online in HD... we do offer HD DVDs as an option (you need a Blu Ray player to watch HD DVDs) but few people want it.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Every event we do we take a mix directly from the DJ and feed into our camera... it will have the best audio you can get take a look/listen at this one... tell me what you think! :)

We typically sell our

We typically sell our[/quote]
We typically sell our DVDs "on the spot" at competitions.... which means that you can take them home the same day you buy them..... which unfortunately doesn't give any time for editing in additional features like athlete interviews or elaborate menues. Editing also adds to the cost of production and increases the price and typically adds weeks on to when the DVDs are ready to be delivered to the customer... and who likes waiting weeks to watch their routines?! We have offered an edited version as an option with better titles, menus and additional features... but it does not sell well.. again... who wants to wait for it?

Thanks for your feedback, though..., I do appreciate it!
