Dang, with all these mergers and acquasitions:
1. I feel for the small gym owners. :(
2. Will we be turning out "cookie cutter" gyms ala McDonalds/Walmart (McGyms)?

Thinking aloud -
I wonder down the road, how this will impact the growth of the industry. Is there such a thing as getting too big to provide quality training to the average athlete?

I worry for competition.. Look at 3-4 years ago. In sm senior in California alone you had power, Cali elite, oc allstars, magic, pace had a sm senior,I think orange crush, cheer force diamonds. Now how many have we??

That's my feeling too, we also had CA Flyers, Victory Cheer, West Coast Allstars and Fierce had a small Sr too (right?), I would love to see Fierce in all girl again.

Every comp was so exciting back then

Cali is not buying nor cal Power...all the info for powers next season is on their website. I checked . Power is however moving to the international coed division next year.

I mean there is still competition in the sm sr division in california.
Victory is still in it, Ca, Pcm, CF, I'm guessing since the split OC will be coming back with one next year. Haven't seen CA Flyers around this year but last year they had one. There was still 8 or 9 teams in the division at spirit sports.

Cali/Power would make sense as well. I really CAN NOT see Eric Contreras selling out unless he is selling the Scottsdale location and building cheer in Tucson. Kelly has "scaled" back her gym before (back in 2002) but they just got their new location and have a really successful program.

I'm reading through this and i'm like....

This literally just made my day!!! I'm considering going to UA for college and I have been contemplating how I can still cheer there, cuz driving to Birmingham is too far from Tuscaloosa:p this could be perfect if I end up going there!!!

Unfortunately in these scenarios the sport does not grow. Athletes just move around.
