To be quite honest, I have never watched a non-CA all star team practice, so I don't know what is different. (I have worked at the same gym for nearly 20 years.) I would think that part of it is that we typically have more coaches per team than most gyms.
Would you mind telling us what a typical practice looks like in your gym? What is done and in what order?
I would also like to thank you for taking the time to do so.

I would assume that nearly every athlete at every gym has abdominal muscles.

To your intended question, visible abs is mostly about a healthy diet. (Please don't follow whatever joke "CA diet" is going around - we didn't have anything to do with that.) Getting your abs to "show" is mostly about decreasing the amount of body fat in the way so their contour is visible under your skin. Calorie-burning exercises can help achieve that, but unless you are riding in the Tour de France or similar, diet plays the biggest role in that for most people.

Having a strong set of core muscles helps with nearly every athletic endeavor and can be achieved through a variety of ways.

The ideal workout (or diet) to achieve that is going to be unique to each individual and would depend on your body type, current fitness level, and desired goals.
Complete truth. You can be completely ripped (all the muscle mass of an actual "6-pack"), but unless your bf is lower through proper diet-and obv exercise as implied- they will remain practically invisible).
"Proper" diet btw= no sodas, no foods high in sodium, only complex carbs, etc. or else even if your bf is still relatively low, the bloating from so many unhealthy foods just offsets your hard work at the gym.

Also, anyone who knows even the littlest bit about being fit, particularly what's required of an elite athlete like that of a World's caliber cheerleader (esp w/abs) knows that the insanely stupid "CA diet joke" floating around, is indeed a joke. You can't function at your peak as that type of athlete doing that and you def won't be seeing any abs w/that type of destructive behavior.

If you had to rank these aims/objectives from highest to lowest priority, what would they be for CA?

Have winning level 5 teams
Teach life lessons, such as sportsmanship, responsibility and trust
Make money and be a successful business
Have equally successful teams across the board
Be original and set the trends in the cheer community
Have the gym as a relaxed stress free place with happy parents
Any others specific to your program?

I don't think those are mutually exclusive, and I'm not sure how to rank them as objectives as they are all part of our overall goals. I'll instead rank how proud we are when we believe we have accomplished them.

  1. Teach life lessons, such as sportsmanship, responsibility and trust
  2. Have the gym as a relaxed stress free place with happy parents
  3. Have successful teams across the board
  4. Be original and set the trends in the cheer community
  5. Have winning level 5 teams
  6. Make money and be a successful business

I heard a rumor that Cheer Athletics is opening a location in Austin. Is this true?

So I watched your skills video and I feel like its a great video across the board for all parents at any gym

But I couldn't help but notice the level 5s

I watched the restricted 5 and the other level 5

My question is if your under 12 non worlds eligible & you have jumps to back and running and standing specialty tumbling thru to full could you qualify for a possible j5 or y5? Or do you have to have a double and or standing full to be considered?

Assuming the kids meets the other criteria's such as stunting/jumps/dance

The video was only intended to be examples of the kinds of things we hope to see at each tryout. If we have the athletes to have Y5 or J5 (or any age/level), then we will make the best team possible from those athletes. Generally, the kids with ALL of the skills will be placed first, and then athletes with SOME of the skills will fill in spots as necessary.

BlueCat I bought the pink NCA panthers shirt in an AS, and it's a bit long on me, I requested to pick my CA Cheetahs and CA program tank top up at the gym to save money on shipping....so would it be possible to bring the Panther shirt up there with me and exchange it for an AXS?
