Hey just curious how many gyms do this, I know of some other gyms that do this, I think it's fun and a good way to bring new clientele to your gym, plus fun for the athletes!
This is new to my gym that I coach at and was wondering what do you all do when it's "bring a friend to practice" week! :)

We bring the kids in, take them thru our normal workout/warmup. Take them thru stations of all parts of our routine: Jumps, tumbling, stunts, dance etc.. We play games, Go to equipment while the team is going thru routine, Jump on trampolines, cheese pit, etc... Make sure you get all information for the kids: re parents names, phone numbers, email, etc... to touch base with parents and answer questions, let them know about the upcoming season, and what to expect, and answer any other questions that they may have, and most of all just HAVE FUN!!!!!!:fro:

Our gym does it every year. Same basic set up. They put up every girl who comes in an elevator based by older guys or coaches and take a picture then print it off and put it on a cute evaluation flyer. Any guys that come get to "coed stunt" one of the littler (strong) flyers for their picture.

It's really cute and makes a nice momentous for the friends.

We don't do it for practices, but we usually do it for classes every so often. There's also "Parents Night Out" that we sometimes do as well. Parents come and drop their kids off for a few hours and the kids have full use of equipment and can utilize the staff for help with skills or whatever, and pop/pizza is usually included with the price our gym charges for PNO. (usually it's 6pm-10pm on a day that PNO is being held) Recently our Senior 5 team (to help them fund raise for worlds) held a "parents night out", and we had 34+ kids that WEREN'T from our program come. Often any events that pertain to the use of the gym (PNO or bring a friend week) the staff strongly encourages our athletes to bring friends in as referrals.
I know a few years back during Bring a Friend week for every friend we brought in whom had never cheered at our program before, we received a $10 credit towards our account :) hmm.. I wonder if we still do that? We also have athletes who bring their friends to Open Gym with them often, so that helps too :)

We have it, usually at the end of the season as a fun practice. New kids can try stuff, regular kids can try new stunts/positions if they're being safe. I think it's a great way to get new kids in the door

Our gym is doing this. One day, a couple hours. The worlds team will also be there to "work out" with the kids.

The gym I tumble at does this! So did the gym I used to cheer at. I'm not sure of the layout of my current gym's but my old one had us bring a friend and we'd teach them basic jumps, stunts, and a dance.

Our gym has bring a friend week, which was actually this week. My cp brought a couple of friends who had no cheer experience and others brought friends from their old gyms. I should also mention that some kids showed up to our practice time without having a "friend" and again showed up a 2nd time friendless. I can now say those kids have friends at our gym. Love seeing new talent but I am concerned about how large this gym is becoming. We have no space as it is. Not sure what we are going to do next season.
