We are so excited that CA is expanding to Austin! What an awesome opportunity for that city and surrounding areas!! Welcome to the New CA Generation!!! More Claws will be coming out!!
Yay!! :)

Congrats on the upcoming expansion! That's awesome! I've always enjoyed watching CA at comps, if we weren't moving down South I would have CA as my top choice!

I know that all of you have your plates full with everything right now, but is there any chance of a practice schedule going up. With our drive, and CP doing school cheer, we want to make sure there won't be conflicts.

BEST OF LUCK AT WORLDS!!

That will definitely be important and we will get that out as soon as possible. That is a few steps away at this point, however.

We have talked about adding smaller, "satellite" gyms many times and even looked into some buildings in various cities. Our MAIN goal in doing that would be to develop a stronger youth program at the new location and build up our class and dance programs. We would not likely want to move our main competitive teams there, at least initially.

We also do not want to impose on our friends and their gyms "turf." While we probably are not too high on other gyms' friend lists at the moment, we honestly do NOT want to harm other programs and "steal" their customers. We would MUCH rather attract completely new athletes to the sport. For many reasons, the most treasured, valuable athletes in the gym are our tiny and minis.

The best analogy of our view of local gyms is like we are all stores in a big mall. Yes, we want people in the mall to come visit our store and shop here, but the absolute LAST thing we want is for all the other stores in the mall to go out of business. That would be a disaster. The main thing we want is for more people to go into the mall.

Plus we are friends with and respect the vast majority of our competitors and we consider it to be in poor taste to directly target other programs' athletes. I'm sure that many people don't believe this, but we have a very strong policy against any of our staff recruiting any athlete that they know to be a part of someone else's gym. If those athletes contact us first, then we will discuss our program with them and welcome them, but we will NOT knowingly go after them first. I can't say that it has never happened, but we strongly discourage it.

Other businesses do not always share that philosophy, but that is up for them to decide what set of business/personal ethics they choose. I don't consider it "immoral" or even "unethical" for people to directly recruit other programs' kids, but we do think it is tacky and disrespectful.

Sir, I don't know you but I admire your professionalism. My L5 granddaughter is a big fan of CA and would give anything to cheer at CA. Unfortunately we live in NW Florida so unless you REALLY expand it won't happen.
HOWEVER, we are coming to your Supercamp this summer and she is very excited about it. :cheering:

In Plano the teams practice one weekday and then one weekend. I always noticed a TON of kids showing up to practice still in their school uniform, so CA is really accommodating to the HS cheerleaders. I think it's the knowledge that you need sideline experience if your going to cheer in college and you can't get that in All Star alone.

Are you talking about the lower levels? My CP might make 3 (she has the skills), but if there are a lot trying for 3, she might be bumped down to 2.....she's been out of competitions for a year now (but kept up with her private lessons), so she will have to work harder to go back on 3 against girls that have been doing it this season.

I know football season won't be an issue, but our school is "alledgely" going to get harder with demerits for everything. At the last two basketball games of the season, my CP were the only ones that showed up and none of them had other school activities!!

I told CP, if she is going to CA and there is any conflict with the school, I will immediately drive to the school and NICELY hand in her uniforms. Cheering at CA will benefit her career plans (of coaching) but the school cheer is just for fun. I will have to make a huge commitment for her to go to CA....hour drive, single mom, ect.....she WILL NOT mess it up!!! I am generally a casual easy person, but I have my lines that she knows not to cross!!

BlueCat If you need the audio system installed down there let me know if you need Brent's # again. We have family down there so he can spend a week getting it all up and running with you. He also need to get in touch with you regarding the amp over the main floor at Plano.

Not to brag...but yea!! Hahaha

If you ever head to the gym in Austin, you should take a drive this way. Voocoo's wineries, speciality shopping. There is a lot to see and do!! LBJ's ranch is 17 miles from me. You can tour it and see a small section of the house, including where he sat and ran our country for a while!!
