My team does three braids so that we don't risk losing and bobby pins on the mat. It's one French braid across the top, One on the side, and one up the back. Then all the braid are pulled together into a messy bun with a bow.

We have a poof (roughly 1 1/2-2 inches high) with a high pony curled into ringlets OR teased.

To get the super-poof:
1. take a section of hair between the arches of both eye brows to about the middle of the head and tie it off with an elastic.
2. Gather the remaining hair into a low pony.
3. Untie the hair which will become your poof and section it off to 3 pieces.
4. Take the furthest back section and spray with either hair spray or dry shampoo in your hair tone (light or dark shade depending) and tease vigorously with a comb or brush starting at the bottom. When it's in a knotty ball-like thing pin it in place with bobby pins.
5. Take the middle section and repeat the same steps, however pin the second section on top of the already teased part.
6. Once both section have been teased, spray with hair spray.
7. Take the section of hair at the front and pull this over the teased hair and pin in place. Spray liberally with hair spray. Use a tissue to lightly (like feather-light) to smooth fly-aways.
8. Take the low pony out and gently brush/pull into a high ponytail.
CURL
9. Take 2cm (almost 1 inch) sections and curl. Once each section is curled hold the curl so it is resting in the palm of your hand (no scrunching, just support the curl) for 10 seconds then let go and spray with hairspray. Repeat till all hair is curled. (This can take a while, so if need be use the special curlers)

TEASE:
10. Spray with dry shampoo in your shade or use hair spray. Take a brush to the pony tail and use swift motions to "flick" the hair into a tease. You want to tease this lightly and just have a rocker-chic "I just got out of bed" hair look to the pony tail. When finished, spray lightly with a super hold hair spray.

Why use dry shampoo? It gives the hair texture which makes it easier to tease and the tease actually holds. Alternately use hair texturing powder, corn starch (as mentioned before) or if you're super desperate and have light coloured hair baby powder works (only use as a last resort).
I find this to work extremely well at holding the teasing in hair, especially if your team teases the pony tail as mine did a few years back.

As for eye makeup:
It should always start at the corner of the eye and finish in line with the end of the eyebrow. It should never extend beyond the outer eye corner/eyebrow end.
Never touch the eyebrow, always finish at the brow bone. Regardless of eye shape, size, etc. never touch the brows.

Long lasting lip make up: (make sure lips are slightly moisturized first with a balm or Chapstick. only lightly)
1. Use a base such as a lip tint or liner.
2. Apply lipstick and blot with a tissue.
3. Lightly dust with translucent setting powder.
4. Reapply lipstick and blot again.
5. Apply sealant and gloss

Hope I help you xxx :)

I think this is the most perfect cheer hair I have ever seen... Question, did yall use extensions or is that all her hair?

LOVE, love, love our Curlformers! They have never disappointed us with less than perfect curls! Quite expensive BUT I found a "generic" brand on eBay and was able to order 40 of them for less than $20. Took a month to arrive from overseas but totally worth it and just as good a quality! They really make lovely universal curls and my daughter loves that she can comfortably sleep in them and dodges the ever hot, forever taking curling iron.

:)

We don't do ringlet curls like curlformers.
I bought them and a wand...
My wand does what I need.

I have absolutely no use for the curlformers and we used them once. I really wish I didn't purchase them as that's not what we use.

They work well for ringlets but I have no use for those! Lol what a waste of all that money!

I should sell them but who would buy them as they are used!!

I made those ^ with a wand and that's perfect for the type of curls we do!

Yes, we used clip in extensions we got from Sally's, they matched her highlighted hair perfectly and really thickened her hair up. Here is a picture from another comp: Used Redkin Hotsets spray on each strand. I wish it stayed all day, but of course some of the curls would fall by the end of the comp, but still looked nice.
