Most of the girls had on casual black dresses. Some with heels, some with cute sandals. There was absolutely nothing fancy about any of it. The reason is because its tradition. Which if you know anything about us, means everything!!! All of our teams have done it who came before us and I for one hope we continue to do it. Having said all that who cares? Nobody's opinion matters except our kids and as long as they know why that's all that matters. For the record I think CA looked adorable. As did our kids. Each program went with completely different concepts and I think it worked. Who cares what anybody else thinks.
Exactly!!! Who cares!!! wear what you want, as someone posted above, why are we talking about this??? Oh I forgot, no one has entered the floor yet.. Back to your regular programming schedule...Who is going to win? Who has the best uniforms? What gym is merging, etc..............:fro:

Just saw this on the MEE Sports facebook page.

I really like these.

While all the haters are sitting behind their computers bashing airport and practice wear, the athletes are at Worlds. Maybe pay more attention to improving your skill set and you just might be there too.

I love traditions and especially when generation after generation honors and respects it.

Normally I agree with you but not this:

1. The thread is about practice wear - I don't think everyone should be required to like it to post about it.
2. No matter how much attention I pay to my skill set I will never be going to worlds.

That being said I totally agree about tradition - love it. I think the girls from SE looked beautiful. I like Cheetahs for practicality but SE looked great.

I never said the thread wasn't about practice wear. You can voice an opinion without bashing athletes and programs who have, quite frankly, worked their asses off to get to the most prestigious event in cheerleading.

Is it bad that my first thought was...
"If you're from Cheetahs, why don't you have abs...?"
and then...
"Oh my god, Ems, you can't just ask someone why they don't have abs."
This is a joke though, before anyone goes on the defensive. I'd kill to have a perfectly flat stomach like hers.
But about the actual practice wear, I really do like the sports bras. They might not be super practical, but are they really going to be going full out (tumbling at least) until they actually perform at worlds, because that's the only time I would be concerned about "falling out" is during tumbling. The shorts are a little small... more like the bloomers you would see under a cheer uniform. If the shorts were just a little more covering I'd love it!

That sounded a little rude. I'm sorry. Routines, rosters, coaching styles, practice wear, uniforms etc i understand being open for critiquing. But a gyms personal decisions on travel clothing just seems petty. I'm sure I'll have to agree to disagree with some on this one.
I wasn't critiquing cheerleaders, just what I usually see around an airport everyday. There's a variety of outfits and I just don't think its practical to not fly comfortably. Sorry if it came off rude, it's just a little thing we like to point out to each other and I didn't think we were the only ones. I could so see a talk show host saying this too
