All-Star Worlds Day 3 Updates (finals Day)

Regardless of scores, LL put out a fantastic performance, as did EVERY other team. Everybody should be proud of themselves and cherish all the memories they made this weekend, they have THOSE forever. Great job to all Small Senior teams for a truly NAIL-BITING competition season.

Alright, now that Large Senior Coed awards come close to having been a day before: does anyone have their scoresheet?

I mean it kinda tweaks me too..the judges only give the teams what they themselves deliver. This year for LB, it was gold. Some other years, it was silver/bronze/no medal at all.

hey if a pupil of mine had come to me today and said 'Miss I can't do work cos Worlds is on'. my reply would have been something along the line of ' no one is doing work, let's stream it live on my big interactive board and watch it all day' sadly no one did

Well it's been a year and we haven't seen last year's large senior coed scoresheet, so my guess it will be awhile before we see this year's...

I feel horrible for that coach..I just hope the kids don't hold anything against her.

Wow, they were serious about that non celebrating rule??

When I was in high school, we qualified for the state soccer tournament in our final game of the season. So to us, just playing in the tournament was a big deal. For the team we played (a team which I believe went all the way to the semifinals or finals), being in the state tournament was expected.

So you are absolutely right that it's all about expectations. I can't speak for some of the teams that finished in the back half of the top-10, but I'm sure for most of them the goal was to make finals. I know for a fact that there were teams whose goals were to make it out of prelims. And if you're an elite, top-tier team, your goal is probably to win the whole thing.
