I wasn't there this year, but have been for the last 4 years. I don't ever remember sitting in the audience and thinking this team is taking too long to get off stage (and slowing down the competition). Not saying it has never happened but... not sure it was a real problem. I have sat there and thought, wow they are leaving that team standing, waiting to take the floor a long time, or wow I wish this announcer would stop going on and on... (Just my view as a spectator)

I have. And also taking too long to get set and start the music.

I keep coming back to this thread...it's like my brain can't process that Worlds is over! Every year I say "OMG can Worlds happen already so we can focus on next season..." and then it does and I have so much fun...and then cry when it's over...bipolar much?

UNBELIEVABLE.... The USASF should be ashamed of themselves. These kids/coaches work so hard all season. I mean, this year I have only a J1 and an S2, and when they hit their routines at a local, they are jumping up and down hugging each other. I've absolutely run out up to the floor before out of excitement when my kids do well. Sometimes you can't contain that, it happens in the moment. How disgusting that a team should be penalized for being excited about all of their hard work and struggles paying off on the floor of the World Championships...

Totally Agree!~ It was really strange watching teams having to just leave the floor. When they didnt hit they looked pissed, sometimes kids celebrate their last performance or hitting something they ve been working on, as long as its not excessive it should be fine.

Also, while I agree the ICE deduction because of the coach sucks, it was clearly stated before the competition. Even I knew it was going to be enforced this year and I wasn't even going. I'm just glad it didn't cost them a higher place
It cost them the silver, glad they still got a globe. I don't have a problem with the rule, I have a problem with the penalty. Would just like to see it handled differently.

I heard it was only 2 points of their 5 points of deductions, which still would have placed them in 3rd. Of course I don't know for sure, though.

I also think it's unfair that it isn't even a coach from their program. What if someone wants to sabotage another team? Too easy, I would think

correct, we were told prior to awards that we were given the deduction and all that the head judge could say was that the "violation deduction" had in no way/shape/or form changed the standings of the placements among the top 3. ICE LL will be back again next year in Small Senior ;)

Thank you for clarifying!

I don't know for sure either, all the tweets I saw indicated it was all 5 pts and that along with the updates saying they only had one slight bobble makes it seem likely.

(edited) Just saw previous, guess that clears it
