Am I crazy to switch my major from nursing to teaching? I feel like nursing is where the money is at but I'd rather teach. :(
I think you have to be a realist though. In certain areas of the country there are just no teaching jobs. Not sure where you live, but by me, fully certified - even dually certified - teachers are accepting positions as teachers aides because they are hoping this will at least help them get one foot in the door for a future position. Other teachers are finding their positions cut or they are being excessed. If nursing isn't for you then by all means find another career path but right now teaching jobs are hard to come by.

So I didn't have my laptop last night (used the fierceboard app) and since it doesn't take away the notification when you check it, this is what I saw when I got on my laptop at school today
Aw man you beat me to it...

But isn't it like that with pretty much any job right now? I think if you are willing to relocate, finding a job is muuuuch easier.

Most definitely. Being willing to relocate or work in less than desirable areas within your own region. The point I was trying to make though (and I guess I did not) is that for years it was very easy to change careers and find a teaching job; we were seeing many people work in a field for 5, 10, 20 years and then decide it was no longer for them, so they went back to school, got a teaching degree and voila! got a job. It is not the case anymore in many regions. Personally I think nursing is a much more viable choice for a job and gives you much more flexibility in terms of working part or full time, the hours of day/night you work, etc. but if teaching is the choice of profession, at least chose wisely within that field and see which subjects and grades have more openings so that you can actually get a job after spending all that time in school.

I can't decide if Worlds was the worst weekend of life because I got really bad sunburn and we bombed and didn't make finals, or the best weekend of my life..

I think nursing is a better choice too, everyone tells me that. But I technically am not switching majors because I wasn't in the nursing program, just liberal studies at a community college trying to make it through cheap. I'm taking all kinds of anatomy classes and I absolutely hate it. I've always always wanted to be a teacher but I was just scared about the money issue. I won't be graduating college for at least 3 more years probably 4. So I'm hoping when Obama gets his butt outa office I'll have something more to go with. ;) (And I'm 100% willing to relocate. I despise Maine.)

My restricted 5 team competes at 10:21pm this Saturday at the US Finals in Providence, RI with awards at 10:45pm. Please pray for me as I am falling asleep while typing this and can't even imagine competing at this hour...
