Tryout season. The time of year when normally calm, supportive parents lose the good sense God gave them.

Thought it would be a great idea to update The Rules so us spectators can get through this time of year without acting like complete donkeybooties. Please add below!

- Thou shalt not ask which athletes are aging-off/not returning

- Thou shalt not be Coach Mom/Dad, unless you actually receive a paycheck from your CP's gym

- Thou shalt exude nothing but joy for every child's new skills and successes in the time leading up to tryouts

- Thou shalt not be present while your child tries out. Doesn't matter if it's allowed or not.

- Thou shalt be welcoming to new parents and athletes at your program.

- Thou. Shalt. Not. Recruit. You pay the gym, not vice-versa. Stay out of it.

Thou shall NEVER threaten to pull your CP from the gym if he/she does not get the placement you like.

Thou shall not threaten to pull your CP if they do not make a level 5 team where your CP can do their full.

If your CP is attending flyer clinics/tryouts or whatever your gym has to assess flyers drop them off and run as far as you can. If you must stay do not watch and do not engage the other parents who are there waiting to tell you who should fly on what level team and why.
