this was my very first time going to worlds. i am on cali black ops! we went into the season hoping to get a full paid bid cause last year we didn't get one. The practice we had were absolutely terrible and our coaches pushed us past our limits. once we got our bid they pushed us even harder. our team was the closest team you could ever be a part of. once we got to worlds, it was amazing. we hit on day one, and when they announced our scores and we were in first; but they hadn't announced gymtyme and sot's scores. once they did, we were in third, by a good four points. we had a team meeting that night (that got pretty emotional) about how this is the most amazing team all of us had been on, and how thankful we were. going into finals all we wanted to do was hit. we didn't watch ANY other teams, even after we performed. awards was the most nerve racking thing i have ever experienced. we sat with UA prodigy, who were SO fun and nice. the sportsmanship in this division is amazing. once the announcer called third we all started bawling. we knew that we had moved up and were at least second in the world. when they called sot second, everything went blurry. words cant describe the feeling that we had. going into the season we didn't have any confidence that we would win, but we did. worlds was the BEST experience of my life, and i can now live the rest of my life calling myself a world champion.

One of my favorite things from Worlds was seeing Fame Super Seniors medal. I got to see Coach Mikes reaction after awards and he had tears in his eyes, kissing the trophy and said "I just can't believe it." It made me teary too and I gained even more respect for him and the team from their sportsmanship and gracefulness shown when getting 3rd. I understand being upset having your dreams crushed but its disappointing when some of will never get the opportunity to make it to finals let alone even compete at worlds so this was very enlightening to witness! Lovehim Congratulations to mike and the coaches and fame super seniors!!

I was in the cafeteria and some blonde chick from CA or SOT or something was being asked to take pictures, and she looks at her friends and says loudly, "make it stop!" in a rude tone... Girl... I know girls prettier, that can fly JUST as well if not better, AND tumble their butts off.

The moral of the story is to appreciate being appreciated.

:)

So someone looks at you wrong (in your opinion) and their teams deserves to drop at Worlds? How do you know she didn't just find out her dog died or her boyfriend cheated in her? Maybe her look didn't have anything to do with you. I know the girl you are probably

... talking about and it would really surprise me if she was glaring at you. You calling her out on a message board is much worse, IMO, than her not smiling at you the right way in a cafeteria. Just sayin'.
no she had just been talking to my best friend from another international team and smiling...idc who you are just appreciate a nice gesture...in general i find it rude when people do not say thank you to the simple little mannered things and i'm a firm believer in karma not meant to be rude at all

I don't see how she was calling anyone out unless you know exactly who is on the team, which I'm guessing most if us don't. Rude is rude. No matter what's going on, say thank you when someone holds a door for you.

I'm not saying you shouldn't say "thank you" when someone opens a door for you, I am saying that I personally think it is even more rude to call out a person or a program in a public forum and imply that they deserved to fall at Worlds because they didn't thank you for holding a door. A minor rudeness doesn't excuse a major (IMO) one.

thank you so much! we were watching you guys backstage and cheered for you so hard! you guys are awesome!!

I feel like every worlds stories thread turns into a complaint on how "cheerlebs" aren't glitter fairies who wake at your every command.
They're kids...they ain't perfect.
If they have bad sportsmanship, that's one thing. Anything else, they're just like the rest of us.
You'd be surprised at how many Cheerlebs are actually kind of shy in person.

I don't mean to argue with you and I'm sorry if it came across that way. I was just trying to say that I don't know exactly which team or CP was being referred to and I don't think most of us did. I didn't see it as someone being called out, but maybe since I don't know anyone involved, it seemed more benign to me. I'm sorry if I offended you.

agreed i am sorry @BlueCat i should have just been the bigger person and not brought it up but i guess we all make mistakes. I do not think i personally called out anyone because i didn't use a name but i could see where people would make assumptions and it be a stupid argument. my bad!

No sweat, I probably overreacted. I just hate seeing high-school aged (or younger) kids called out for stuff publicly. I tend not to respond well to that, whether the athlete is a part of our program or not.
