What I think you mean is the percentage of how many athletes try out again who are eligible. (Those who don't move away, go to college, etc.)
Exactly. How do you track it? You will have some kids that can super senior or could move to int teams etc. what formulas do you use to track that retention?

I think this is correct for Plano. Austin teams are not selected yet. (Some of the teams' divisions changed many times during discussions, it is possible there are mistakes here.)

What's sad is that all the moms were like "LOL great name!" and the kids were like "what the heck is a Liger?" has it really been that long since Napoleon Dynamite came out?
I'm going to guess it's almost 10 years

There isn't a complicated formula, other than just the percentage of each team that tried out again. For calculation purposes, we generally exclude graduating seniors, because their "retention" is dependent on many other factors that you can't easily control for.

@bluecat do you have a rough idea / equation on the amount of space you need versus amount of athletes your have in a program?

do you rent or buy out your facilities in the past?

I would say roughly 1 spring floor for every 5-6 teams, but that is very rough. The size of your class program is a big factor in that as well.

We have primarily leased our spaces. While there are certainly arguments for owning, it is not true that owning is always a smarter option than renting.

I am trying to compare what we pay here in Australia for a leased space versus what the US may pay... Exchange rate aside we pay AUS $160 a meter per year... Currently in a 930m2 facility...

Is this comparable to what you would expect to pay for lease? Or are we way at one end of the spectrum

I ask this as we have an opportunity to secure a larger than needed facility at this point, but should we maintain current growth trends, we will definitely need it, if not next year, the year after

@bluecat your insight is invaluable to me, thank you so much for sharing this info

Not sure of the exchange rates, but that is roughly comparable to what we pay

There was apparently a coach in California saying that their new gym was being backed by / partnered with Cheer Athletics. That is simply not the case. We have never even heard of the coach that was allegedly making those claims.

Oh lord, it amazes me how many people in our industry can think they can spew these types of lies and get away with it.

Do your gyms have pits?
Also, we have 2 teams and one spring floor, and it seems like there are always classes on the floor unless we practice pretty late at night. Do you have a separate floor for tumbling classes, or when do tumbling classes happen to fit around team practices?
