My story that nobody will probably care about...
Ready GO.

Ok. So I have a small obsession with SMOED.. And I made a bow that says "Rob We're Buds" on it.. I ran into Kiara Knowlin, and she saw my bow and took a picture of it (blah blah). And I ran into her dad several times throughout the weekend, who remembered me and my bow. He is the sweetest man alive. He helped me look for Rob all weekend to sign my bow. Finally, it was small coed awards. (Blah blah). Then smoed won, YAY. And I started crying of happiness (duh). (PS.. At this point I still haven't ran into Rob.) And Kiara's dad saw me crying (embarrassing..) and recognized me, asked if I had found rob, I said no (well kinda, I was still crying lol.) So, bless his heart.. He took me by the hand and walked over to the crowd of smo's and smoed parents and stood there with me until they were done taking photos.. Then he helped me look for Rob. And we found him. He literally handed me to Rob.. Like took my hand, and put it in Rob's hand. And me and Rob hugged in the middle of the floor, lol. Then he was like "OMG YOURE THE GIRL WITH THE BOW". And he grabbed my hand and we ran across the floor together for him to sign it and stuff. (People were staring at me like who the hell are you..) Then he was about to sign it, and he got taken by some interviewer while he still had my bow. .__.
And then he finally signed it and we were about to take a picture when he got pulled away again lol. So Kiara's dad let me wait with them until after they got sized for their rings and then I finally got my picture with Rob and we got to talk a little bit. His little sister told me her favorite nail polish color is purple (incase anyone wanted to know.) She is adorable.

Moral of the story.
Kiara Knowlin's dad is a saint. Sweetest man I've ever met.
Mr. Knowlin, if you are on the boards.. Bless you. You are such a nice man, and I am truly thankful for everything you did to help me at worlds. <3 Bless your daughter as well, she is SO sweet and humble.

Ok.. Story over, carry on with life.
:)

this was my very first time going to worlds. i am on cali black ops! we went into the season hoping to get a full paid bid cause last year we didn't get one. The practice we had were absolutely terrible and our coaches pushed us past our limits. once we got our bid they pushed us even harder. our team was the closest team you could ever be a part of. once we got to worlds, it was amazing. we hit on day one, and when they announced our scores and we were in first; but they hadn't announced gymtyme and sot's scores. once they did, we were in third, by a good four points. we had a team meeting that night (that got pretty emotional) about how this is the most amazing team all of us had been on, and how thankful we were. going into finals all we wanted to do was hit. we didn't watch ANY other teams, even after we performed. awards was the most nerve racking thing i have ever experienced. we sat with UA prodigy, who were SO fun and nice. the sportsmanship in this division is amazing. once the announcer called third we all started bawling. we knew that we had moved up and were at least second in the world. when they called sot second, everything went blurry. words cant describe the feeling that we had. going into the season we didn't have any confidence that we would win, but we did. worlds was the BEST experience of my life, and i can now live the rest of my life calling myself a world champion.
we loved you guys so much! our coach got a picture of all of us together!!

Another one of my favorite parts was when even though we hit at semi-finals, we still didnt think we would make it to finals and we were predicting our scores in the 240 range. but then when they announced our score, me and my teammates that i was sitting with just stared at each other and didn't say anything. We just kept looking back to the screen and a gym owner sitting next to one of the boys on my team even asked "you know you're in first place right now right?" we honestly were not expecting anything like that and it was such an amazing feeling.

ALSO, seeing the arena go crazy for lime was another one of my favorite moments. its no secret that UA and GBE are sister gyms and we all know eachother very very well. Their coaches would drive from 4 hours from green bay to come to our friday night practices and help us. Seeing everyone be as in love with them as we all are was amazing, especially knowing them personally. soo proud of lime that weekend

I feel like every worlds stories thread turns into a complaint on how "cheerlebs" aren't glitter fairies who wake at your every command.
They're kids...they ain't perfect.
If they have bad sportsmanship, that's one thing. Anything else, they're just like the rest of us.
You'd be surprised at how many Cheerlebs are actually kind of shy in person.

One of the cheerlebs from our gym is actually quit shy but when you talk to her, she looks you in the eye and speaks softly and with a smile. Some might think she comes off as rude. Shyness often gets mistaken for rudeness.

Kiara's family are some of the nicest ppl I've ever met. She definitely learned her graciousness from her parents.

well a self proclaimed cheerleb from SOT was ever so rude and glared at me when i held the door for her...i was just being nice...but karma gets you and it sure did on the worlds floor

no she had just been talking to my best friend from another international team and smiling...idc who you are just appreciate a nice gesture...in general i find it rude when people do not say thank you to the simple little mannered things and i'm a firm believer in karma not meant to be rude at all

I'd suggest you never visit Chicago or New York then (no offense to Chi-town, my hubby's hometown- or to New Yorker's- but my experiences in those busier cities are quite different than the ones from the South where I live). People looked at me in serious confusion when I'd thank them for bagging my groceries, people didn't hold the doors open for others and never thanked me when I did, etc. etc.
It doesn't mean jack squat other than they weren't raised to say "yes ma'am/sir no ma'am/sir", etc. No need to take offense.

Much as my husband was shocked moving here that people actually do those things for you and in general like to speak to you, say hello, etc., he didn't grow up doing it- that doesn't mean him not smiling at you equates rudeness, dislike, or hate. Actually it initially freaked him out a bit bc he was so not used to it he wasn't sure how to take some of it- true story.

Meeting and spending time w/@AndrewSky was one of my FAV experiences..right up there w/SE winning World's. <3 He is so kind, sweet, funny and was always looking out for me in some way. He could hang w/my vampire schedule and spent so much time talking w/me at night w/o much sleep. Oh, and did I mention he's the reason I even got to go to World's?!!!

Holding @MsTealtoYou while she sobbed after little bit won was an awesome experience- as was another good friend of mine w/a daughter on SE. Oh- and have I already mentioned MsTealtoYou making me cupcakes for my brother's bday literally at the last minute 2 days before leaving for worlds? Have I mentioned how incredibly awesome she is? Yes? Ok well I said it again- sorry I'm getting delirious...think it's time for bed!

My negative "World's Experience" is that my opinion regarding a couple of well known people has changed for the worse for very good reason. Very disheartening to say the least. :(

@xtremeteal4life

i am from NYC lived there til college so.... we are not all rude just saying...but i understand your argument and i apologized already for bringing this up
I wasn't really trying to come across as rude-(like everyone from cities a, b, and c are always mean or rude), rather I was making it more of a cultural reference, using myself and my hubby as an example. I quickly learned to adapt to where he's from and learned not to take tons of things personally, etc.

NBD, and i think your apology was a nice gesture

I definitely agree that it's a huge cultural thing based on where you're from. I'm from Chicago (born on the south side and now I live in the nearby suburbs) and I wouldn't say people are rude, but people are much more brisk and wanting to get in and out of places quickly without a lot of conversation. When I visit other cities, especially further south, people definitely move more slowly and want to chit chat more. It's always surprising and takes getting used to and I'm sure when you're used to that, the way things work in places like Chicago, etc seem snippy and rude.
