I'd love some ideas and thoughts on experiences you have had on competing on level 3 teams. We are a small gym. my daughter is 11 y/o and just finished competing 2 years on a very successful smj2 team. She is a flyer and her team has jumped to a large sr 3 for this upcoming season. I'd love to hear a little about the lg sr3 bucket overall. This is a big change for our team going from smj2 to lgsr3. Also some feedback from some people that have had their younger cps compete on senior teams. We became very familiar with the smj2 bucket and what to expect so this is a new adventure. We are very excited for this year and would love some thoughts

I was on large senior 3 this year. I will say that large junior 3 always has more competition. We usually had a rather small division, and were excited to win a division with 7-9 teams. Large junior 3 & 2 are normally huuuuge divisions! Only thing I hate about aging out of juniors. :(

Cp was on a large jr 3 last year and our gym also had a large sr coed 3. The large sr 3 division always seemed to have more teams in it than the large jr 3.

I competed on a small senior 2 and a large senior 3 team last season and at USA nationals we had over 22 teams in the ss2 division and only 8 in ls3

My cp was 10/11 years old on a Lg Sr 3 team this year and it was terrific. Her stunt group was recognized at the awards dinner because of the strong bond they developed over the course of the year...and her bases/back spot were 16, 17 and 18 years old! There was a nice mix of some younger kids (10-12), mid-range kids (12-14) and senior kids (15-18) so everyone felt comfortable. Great team dynamic...especially when they nailed their performances at UCA.

Sorry...just had to get that out. So proud of them.

I would try looking up past results from the competitions you went to this year (or know you will be going to next year) to see division sizes and then maybe youtube some of those teams to get a feel for what the type of skill level was.

We are having a Y3 this year and unless the rumors are true and a nearby gym is having one too, we won't see another Y3 team until nationals down in Cali and there was only two of them last year.

Wow thats great news! Id love to know what team she was a part of or what region..that souncs a lot like our team :)

Depends on what area of the country you're in.
On the west coast, it appears that almost every single gym has a large senior 3. Competition is very intense.
We are on east coast, Georgia. Lots of teams down south :)

i was on a large senior 3 team for 7 seasons. its definitely my favorite division. I've noticed that the competition in this division has grown to be stronger these past few seasons.

My youngest is going from Small Youth 2 to Large Senior 3 ... I'm nervous about the age difference!

That's huge but she is there for a reason, hopefully she will be just fine and be able to hold her own. Would think a junior 3 would be more fitting, but she was placed where needed, stay positive!!!

Thank you. I trust our coaches 100%. Its just hard to see her growing up because when I look at her I still see my little baby. We were all surprised about her team placement but know that the coaches are more than qualified and they wouldn't put her there if they thought she would not be successful on that team. They are experts at this lol!
