Just wanted to point out that I believe they are trying to market this show to a mainstream audience, which is the reason for the drawn out episodes. While those of us inside the cheer world know the outcome, those outside don't. Most probably don't even know Worlds already took place. Keep in mind that while the cheer world is pretty large and growing, they're trying to get the other 300+ million in the country to watch and take interest.

Thought I would also share this interesting bit of news...
DreamWorks buying AwesomenessTV for about $33M - Yahoo! Finance

If shows like this continue to do well, I think it will be great for the sport as it will draw in more interest and allow for further expansion of the sport as more kids get into it, which is very exciting. Certainly having Dreamworks behind the show could really do wonders to increase the visibility!!

Do you know if they will be following Smoed again next year or maybe another Cali team??

I do not know if they intend to chronicle Smoed's journey again next year. I believe they have expressed interest, but I am not sure if in fact they will.

It has to get annoying after a while to have the cameras always following you around.

As a mother of a teenager I have to say that I am completely impressed at Lauren's maturity and her ability to deal with such a painful situation with such poise and class. Her hurt was there but she handled herself better than I could ever imagine a girl of her age being able to. Kudos to her parents for raising such a beautiful girl inside and out!!!!

I'm surprised that nobody's made the correlation between Gabi's bobble and Maddie Gardner's fall at worlds. Hello, nobody's perfect. Although nobody wants to mess up in their stunt, everybody does it. I think a lot of people are forgetting that these girls are only human. We all make mistakes. Give Gabi a break

So impressed with Lauren's and Gabi's handling of the situation. Humble girls who respect each other and truly want what is best for their team. Easy to see why SMOED is successful.

Exactly. Not to mention they go into every performance knowing that any mistake they make will be blasted all over social media (a big deal when you're a teenager). Couldn't imagine many athletes handling that type of individual pressure and when all is said and done they do a good job of it.
